They're getting an item because AD assassins have to use items that weren't entirely aimed at their class. The only AD assassin items that you can get are Black Cleaver, Ghostblade, Rav. Hydra, and things like Maw. Most assassins are getting Ghostblade now but BC, Hydra, and Maw were intended for bruisers not assassins. They need an item specifically for their class so that way we can deal with nerfing/tweaking kits without putting them in the garbage can or sending their win rates skyrocketing. Remember, your rank right now doesn't matter as much as it will in 6.1, so this is Riot's designated time to fuck up things, but they gotta fix it before the real season starts. That's why it's called Preseason.
