i just never really got that. so enemy picks a champ, let's say jax. then you pick teemo, or malphite, and yet you get rekt. i'm not talkin about a close score, but literally rekt to the point where top lane already took inhib and you haven't taken a single tower yet. just can't get that through my head. i've never lost a lane 1v1 when i counter picked someone. it's impossible. even if i afk, and come back 15 minutes later, my lane is still pushed and i'm probably half way of taking inhib.

another thing that really grinds my gear, is when people buy zhonyas and never use it. like wtf? same goes with sightstone. you might as well invest in a worthy damaging item.

It's definitely understandable that this would irritate you, but it's also understandable that these people are likely nowhere near as skilled with that champion, lane, or match up (meaning they aren't familiar with the specifics of the enemy laner's kit) ... or there is always the probability that the enemy laner is simply miles better. Either way, I agree it is frustrating. Everyone starts somewhere. I just hope that they are not starting in ranked.

As for not using item's Actives, I actually used to not use actives because I didn't really see how much they actually helped, or I would avoid purchasing items with actives simply because it was easier to not rely on remembering to activate it. Once I learned how much they really help I started using them more and more. I actually have a few friends who have been playing longer than I have and they don't use Actives either. Drives me crazy, but they don't play as often as I do.

Counter play really doesn't mean anything in the most of the games. Say, Garen counters Riven. I picked up Garen counter picking the enemy Riven, but I have barely any experience with Garen when the other person is a Riven main. Of course I would lose hard.
