whenever you rework yorick, keep his ult

His ult is a very iconic spell. It is not that toxic and their is no other spell in league that is anything like it. If riot gets rid of his ult, I will be very sad. It is a skill that can be very strong if you use it right, or useless if you fail it. It is literally the only non toxic spell that yorick has and it is a really cool spell in general. I dont care about his other spells, but please keep his ult.

I'm.. fairly certain the ult is one of the first things to go. All the past rework thoughts didn't have it, anyway. I mean, its reliant on a person to die to get the full value, and it doesn't even bring them back. Unique, yes. Quality, not so much.

I agree. When Riot was reworking him back at the end of season 4, his ult was one of the first things to go. It might have been special back in the day, but now it's really mediocre. If you want the revive portion of the ult you can always play Zilean and do it better. If you want the clone portion of the ult, you can play Mordekaiser and do it better. In the best case scenario, Yorick's ult would be both unique and effective. But if I had to choose between the two, I'd want effective. Let the rest of his kit be the unique part in that case.

Fun fact: The season 4 hypothetical Yorick ult let him put down a tomb on the map that constantly spawned undead. These undead would act similar to empowered minions by pushing the lane, taking towers, and making split push Yorick more effective. Does that sound familiar to anyone? item 3512 It was unique, effective, and it stayed true to his theme of being a gravedigger/necromancer. Now that the portal exists that ult wouldn't work well anymore (or maybe it would work TOO well, if he had both) but there's definitely room for improvement in Yorick's ult.

The only spells which clone an allies, mordekaiser can only clone an enemy.

Yorick is so fun. I dread a rework. =(

He needs a rework, no questions about that. He is fun to play but complete cancer to play against, it is 0 fun getting chased by 3 ghouls while yorick happily farms and sustains off of the damage you take.

So..you're just upset about a kit that is different?

huh? every single champion's kit is different, but notice how every other champion but yorick appears on the free week.

Personallt, I don't care about the ultimate. I think it is only really iconic because the whole "Gravedigger" thing wasn't apparent in his gameplay.

If his basic abilities were reworked to be more cohesive with his theme then the ultimate wouldn't be needed to have him still be Yorick.

On the ultimate, don't you think it is something that is really holding him back. In the right team comp (Basically Cass or Kog'Maw) it is incredibly powerful but because it is so strong in those situations it isn't allowed to be strong anywhere else.

From what I've seen (long, long ago), the plan was to keep his ghouls and change his ult. And honestly, I'm fine with that. His ult is way too strong in some situations (late game hyper carry madness) and weak as get all in the rest. There isn't really a middle ground.

Yeah the general idea was to make his QWE ghosts more meaningful rather than spamming all 3 whenever you can. His R was changed to fit that idea either as supercharging whatever Ghost you had out or as some crazy Ultimate AoE spell that interacted interestingly with the Ghosts.

I think Yorick is actually fine, he's nice top and jungle, he scales well to me.

He is getting reworked because of how cancerous he is to face, not because of how good or bad he performs.

Back when Xelnath was spitballing Yorick ideas a few years ago, his ult was the first ability to go, and I agree with that: as unique as the ability might be, it's confusing to use and play against on a kit that's already bad at communicating itself, and it has very little depth to its use (it's basically a steroid that only truly works on your team's marksman) despite having a ton of power (it's the only way Yorick truly scales into the late game). If Yorick were to keep his ult, he wouldn't have much of an opportunity to be that strong with his other spells, even if they were made healthier, so I'd rather he got a more interesting way of interacting with ghouls and the dead than his current clone steroid.

It's actually REALLY toxic. You get to have a ghost of a teammate, an ADC, effectively doubling your teamfight and sieging potential. To get rid of the Ghost you have to either kill the Ghost while ignoring the real ADC or kill Yorick, who pretty much always builds full tank after Manamune. If you kill the person who owns the Ghost, you have to deal with them again for a duration. I don't see how this isn't toxic.

In skirmishes it makes him impossible to duel because he gets to double his damage output and pushing power.
