I'm still wondering what brought this on, was she buffed, because I can't quite remember in the past patch notes.

She wasn't any time recently. Her last actual balance change was a while back, changing W from flat damage buff (some percent of AD) to % health instead to make her deal less to squishies and more to tanks (due to tank meta). And then her E being changed from 1 minute to 12 seconds or so but faster and closer tentacle spawns.

Illaoi QQ threads pop up every now and then.
