Do you think riot will ever bring back the AOE smite

I really liked it because it helped out alot with clear time on champs that had slow clears, and really opened up the number of champs that could be played successfully in the jungle with champs like Fiddlesticks Fizz Leona

it is true that Ranger's trailblazer did help out those champs, but when a champ that already had a good clear picked it up, it just became disgusting

exactly. it was so good that it became the only one to pick really. it made your clears incredibly healthy and way faster which meant more ganks.

I loved it too, but i'm glad its gone.

To be perfectly honest, it crowded everything else out.

Riot has since figured out that differences in clear speed, don't make the best balancing lever. (Because who ever has the faster clear, will earn Gold/XP faster.) So when we had a Jungle item that significantly effected clear efficiency, it became the only way to go.

Than it caused the side effect, where the only way a item could compete with it, was if we made it very very powerful, but this in response made duelist smite, so good it was taken on top laners

Kinda the issue that comes with that, meta has more to do with the go to picks that raw power.

Regardless of how OP skirmisher's saber might have been. The faster clear speed was the only way to go, even if it's actual power would otherwise seem balanced. Once Trailblazor's edge got removed, everyone began to notice how OP the other items actually are.

I would prefer we figure out another way to boost slow jungler clearers. The AOE smite, while also, just buffed the fast clears, putting us back at square 1 in the jungle but MASSIVELY effecting the rest of the map.

The simplest solution would be to buff the Slow Junglers themselves. But if that's not especially appropriate, you would have to adjust the itemization on said Junglers that deal more damage, unconditional of stats.

I really hate to say it this way, but my official response would be:

Not a chance in hell.

Nope because champs with already good clears pick it up to become even faster. I reneger using it on Shyv to stack my feral flare stupid fast. I'd be a level or two ahead of solo laners. That shit was dumb
