Well seeing how you only play Kass I can assume your talking about him. Kass trades lane phase for late game (although his lane phase is better then it should be). Not every champ is meant to be a lane phase God, it's risk you take to play late game champs.

Having played some Veigar and Syndra, I get that. It still feels terrible.

Veigar, again trades lane phase for mid/late.

Syndra though, she is good at lane phase and mid game with a pretty good late game. The only champs your losing a range battle with is Ziggs, Azir, and Xerath.

Being Kass though, you can survive those lane phase and come out not that far behind (assuming players of equal skill are playing).

Now if we're talking top lane, then I can understand some stupid match ups.

When I play Kass or Akali though I pretty much expect to have a shit lane phase for whatever reason unless I pick them into favorable match ups.
