[Top lane] how are you laning against new Shen?

I really want to know what others are doing to make the laning phase vs Shen top tolerable.

As it is right now, Shen feels like a general counter to everything that can go top lane. Let me elaborate:

1. If you're a melee squishy (Fiora, Jax, Yasuo): He will build tank, along with tank stats and the spammeable passive shield, he will outtrade you every single time. I'm not even mentioning his W granting him a potential 2.5 seconds of invulnerability vs basic attacks and effects tied to them.

2. If you're a tanky melee (Garen, Illaoi, Nasus): If you build tanky, he still going to outrade you since Q deals %HP damage, and he has plenty of time to hit you before you can retaliate due to shield, E and W.

3. AP Top laner: MR itemization is much better than months before, so having acess to it is very easy, and current Shen's kit can use every single stat into the game, but Crit, very effectively, so he has acess to ALL. In the other hand, Mpen is expensive and hard to get early, you're powerless once he gets a Cowl or an Hexdrinker,

If you do sustained damage (Vlad, Liss), unless you completely avoid coming into contact with him, you might have enough damage to push him out of lane in a couple of minutes, not posible to kill him alone unless he openly commits suicide.

If you do burst damage (Diana, Ekko) , your burst patterns are fairly predictable, and the shield, which is up almost all the time your own cooldowns are off CD, he will negate most of the damage, then proceed to outtrade with Q and E

4. If you're a ranged AD (Quinn, Graves, Jayce) Your own squishyness makes you unable to trade at all times due to minion agro, when you can, he has shields, dodge and the taunt to outtrade you.

5. If you're a tank(Sion, Mundo): He will outrade you over time with his own very short cooldowns, shields, dodge and %HP damage.

Since new patch was up I started to see Shen banned almost every game, asking just leads to the answer "He's broken" or "He's too tanky with too much damage", mind you, this is at Plat-Diamond ranked queue, I'm not sure how it is on gold and below atm, but I doubt It's different. If he isnt banned he's usually the first pick.

Also, I'm not sure if intended, but all, or almost all effects tied to basic attacks can't damage him on W but are CONSUMED. Like Fiora's passive, Gnar's W, Jax's R, Quinn's passive, Vayne's W, etc.

For the amount of power Shen is packing as a solo laner It's also opressive he can have a global presence in the game. Most people are avoiding fights and trades against Shen's team while his team is overzealous to dive and go into risky positions, where they would normally get butchered but the presence of Shen negates all this.

I enjoy playing top lane, but Shen is ruining it. Any hints you can give, anything you're using vs Him ATM?

Only champions I've seen having some sucess with him are Malphite, Vayne and Zac
