Why can't I dodge at ranked selection without penalty?

Ranked is suppose to be an indicator of individual based skill, and yet it's instead a win/loss system where you're rewarded even if you're the worst player alive as long as you get carried... and now you'll never ever hear me say Riot or their staff are logical or intelligent, because they're not, but the level of idiocy with the current system is something special... I should be able to dodge at champion select to help avoid the trolls, this isn't hard to understand. Wasting 30 mins of my life so they can feed, grief, lose lane, go afk, and submit false reports against me at end isn't enjoyable. High elo is so much easier and fun than low elo but it's nearly impossible to get there with the current system.

It's not hard to understand that free dodges means that people freely dodge. There are people who would just repeatedly dodge until the got they got the right match in an attempt to cheat the system. And then the other team dodges.

If you forfeit before the match even starts, it's expected that forfeit counts against you.

the problem is, the ends dosent justify the means. if they simply allowed this, people would just keep dodging and dodging until they got that 80% winrate team vs the team of sub 30% winrate bronzes.

If you're just interested in getting to high elo, you're free to dodge often enough as long as you're willing to sit through the time penalty, since dodging doesn't impact your mmr.

Depending on what you consider 'high elo', that shouldn't be a big deal, since the first dodge is only 5 minutes, and high elo queue times can be somewhat longer than that anyway.
