Dream Snatcher - aka we want to make life as hard as possible for AP champs

Khristophoros··7 votes·2,345 views

So first you make cannon minions more valuable and harder to last hit (despite the fact that AD champs have a huge advantage in terms of raw last hitting with autoattacks)

And then you see people actually started using Minion Dematerializer because well, we basically need to now. So your response is to change it to a stun.

Honestly can we actually get AP added to basic attacks vs minions at this point?

Rito don't want mages to be wave control freaks so assassins have a chance, while people who main mages are already saying assassins are already strong early game and can tower dive you with a one shot combo at lvl 6, plus they can roam a shit ton to help the jg with scuttle control.

Assassins have a flawed feast or famine design so the solution is not nerfing mage waveclear and especially not making mage last hitting annoying and tedious (in what world is this ever a solution to anything?)

The solution is actually make assassins have decent fallback patterns.

If it still allow assassins a bigger place and time to shine somewhere than a few patches ago.

Asassins are hyper meta right now, what are you talking about.

I'm talking about if rito make assassins have decent fallback patterns.

Mages are dead. The best mid atm is probably fucking irelia, followed by talon, there's no reason for anyone to be playing a mage.

And before someone says it, no, despite building AP, zoe, possibly the strongest AP mid laner this patch and one of the only AP mid laners worth playing, isn't a mage because she plays nothing like a mage.

People weren’t taking minion dematerializer because of last hitting, they were taking it because pro players took it to roam better.

Riot doesn’t want mages to just be wave clear bots with no difficulty.

Its difficult for a mage getting any CS at all without getting killed in the assassin run meta. Maybe not difficult per se, but even slight mistakes are punished instantly and 100-0 completely. Just what is their role at that point? Wave clear is the fall back plan, and is the only catch up opportunity available. These shifts are a huge mistake, and I don't see any good that's been done for the game at large for 4-5 patches. This should be plainly evident.

You only need to use it on one melee + one caster and you can use the rest to guarantee early cannons to avoid getting zoned or punished off your shitty last hit window for cannons.

The problem with the way cannons are now is if your window to last hit is tiny as fuck, it's so easy to get punished for it. If you have to wait for it to be at 50 health or less that makes it so easy to get zoned and punished. Either that or you have to use your trading ability to get it with a larger window which also opens you up to be punished.

You cannot afford to miss them because it sets you back too far on your first purchase especially if you're in a bad matchup where this is a concern. The last thing you want is to be behind like 200-300 gold on the first purchase into an already hard matchup.

Doran's Ring literally has 5 onhit damage vs minions. Jesus christ, it is not making AP champion's life harder.

Khristophoros1 votes

Makes no real difference when it comes to contesting cannon minions. Your last hit window is still way too small, too easy to punish. Those fuckers have 900 base health. 5 damage is less than 1% of that.

AirKingNeo1 votes

use an ability like everyone else does.

Khristophoros1 votes

That opens up an opportunity to get punished because you put an ability on cooldown

Good?

Khristophoros1 votes

AD champs don't have this problem that's the whole point.

Aptest1 votes

these "AD champions". They happen to be melee right? And they have to step up to CS ?

Khristophoros1 votes

Most of them do have to step up but it's irrelevant because we're talking about shit like Zed, Yasuo, and Irelia lmao

People don't take it to cs. Killing a minion with it gives you bonus damage against that type of minion for the rest of the game. Being able to 1 shot the casters earlier and have an easier time killing the melee/cannon minions later on is super powerful. Not sure about the replacement they have for it on PBE though. Seems super weird. They could probably do a lot better with the replacement imo.

Khristophoros1 votes

We take it to guarantee the first 4 cannons + get the damage bonus on the other two types for more waveclear.

Do you understand how much it sucks to have to last hit the first 4 cannons normally while laning against shit like Zed or Yasuo?

Akali is SO HOT2 votes

If you miss cs it's your fault not the game's. Considering you are playing a ranged mage as well you should almost never miss a cannon. If you're taking the rune because you can't properly cs, then you are playing the game wrong.

Khristophoros2 votes

I guess you've never played against an opponent who actively tries to punish you for taking cannon minions. This reply is so disingenuous it's like you're assuming that everyone just lets each other last hit.

Akali is SO HOT1 votes

I play mostly melee champions. If I can get cannons playing melee vs ranged matchups, then it's entirely your fault if you can't get cannons as a ranged champion. You shouldn't be relying on a rune to get cs for you if you are at all competent at this game. Learn to last hit please

Mages can get mana out the ass with this absolute cancer of an item: item 3802

Them actually having to turn on their brains to farm and not rely on a broken rune to make it easier for them is a pretty welcome change.

Alternatively, Riot could´ve just made the minions you use Demat on give you no exp or gold, just the bonus damage.

Khristophoros1 votes

Put your trading ability on cooldown to get the cannon = possibly get punished and definitely get zoned off for the next 5 seconds.

SithesisLord1 votes

Because mages can´t auto-attack like everyone else to conserve mana.

Jinzo Torrance1 votes

Looks like a shit rune too, like 2 MS and 1 armor which then becomes only 1 more MS and 0.5 armor? Like, are they even trying to come up with something good?
