Critique of Zilean changes on PBE
First off, i want to say how much i love the changes to q
Targeting - Q is now thrown at a location instead of targeted, first unit to come in contact with it "picks it up". According to 20thCenturyFaux - "priority is: anything with a bomb > enemy champ > ally champ > enemy creep > ally creep" New Effect - "Placing two bombs on a unit detonates the first bomb early, stunning all enemies in the blast for 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 seconds." Damage lowered to 75/115/165/230/300 (.8 AP) from 90/145/200/260/320 (.9 AP) Now Detonates after 3 seconds down from 4 Mana cost lowered to 60/70/80/90/100 from 70/85/100/115/135 Cooldown changed to 12/11/10/9/8 from 10 at all ranks
This will make playing Zilean a ton more fun (and rewarding) while increasing counter-play pesky early game harass. Good work!
however, im much less of a fan of what is being done to his w/r
Rewind (W) : Now only reduces the cooldown of basic spells, no longer reduces cooldown on R
Chronoshift (R) Cooldown lowered to 120/90/60 from 180 at all ranks Duration of buff lowered to 5 seconds from 7 seconds
aside toning down the power of 40% cdr rush on ZIlean, there are no real benefits that i can see to this, but there are quite a few pitfalls:
level 16 zilean with 40% cdr can now have his ult available at roughly the same time (difference of 8 seconds from old zil with perfect macro) with no downside (mana cost, casting w at inconvenient times ect)
so while you are increasing skill and forethought required to perform a good q combo, you are taking a lot of macro skill involvement out of his ult... making him a more reliable powerhouse in team fights for low skill players, and taking away power from well versed Zilean mains
