Why do people one trick pony a champion to a certain elo

And then once they get there throw that out the window and start feeding their brains out with someone different?

The only reason you are at that elo is because you are good at that one champ... don't make the entire rest of your team suffer because you wanna first time a champ you don't play in ranked

I don't get that, because unless you're playing something lower ELO's won't learn to counter (Heimer) then you're just giving up your skill.

Playing a champ a lot makes you a better player. Play what you like and don't worry about knowing everything about every champ. Have a pool of 5 to 10 and rotate one or two out every so often.

It's because since ranked became DQ practicing a champ in norms holds next to no merit. Might as well ranked and get something for it.

To grow as a player?

Because at a certain point the champion you are OTP'ing can no longer carry you because people know how to deal with it.

Well it's because people generaly want to get to gold, to get their season rewards. And playing one champion very well, means it will be Generaly easier to get to said elo because in Low Silver and bronze they almost never counterpick, and at higher silver you will still have much succes with a champion that is really strong when mastered, Now why does someone one trick after getting to gold is more complicated. Maybe because he only likes to play that champ. Maybe because he is too lazy/doesn't have time to learn a new main/alt. Maybe because he is doing well despite being a otp.

Because its the fastest way to climb?

Most people including myself rank with a pretty small pool of champions. I got Darius, Renekton, Jax, Viktor as champs that I can play to their full potential. When I get to diamond then Imma slowly expand in to more champions but until then its best to climb with your 1-5 One trick pony champions.

or mechanically we are decent. I pretty much play xerath exclusively at my elo, but will occasionally play a new champ. Not like i get my ass handed to me but i'm not dominate either.
