Sion is sick: needs medical attention STAT
I used to play a lot of
Sion (old Sion) and sure it was fun, but it was lacking something. Now I play the new remake of Sion and he is far improved upon his old self, and I like it. HOWEVER, being essentially brand new and all, it has some pretty major flaws.
---First off, Sion is unexpectedly squishy. No, not like
Teemo squishy, but far squishier than it feels he should be. With relatively low health and a lack of natural sustain,
Sion very often struggles with early laning, and you're almost guaranteed to not get a kill at least until you get your ulti at 6. In fact, you're much MUCH more likely to get taken out while just trying to farm by your own tower. Your only saving graces in your early game is your E for very weak ranged pokes and your Q which, if you can actually get it fully charged somehow, does some good damage.
---Secondly, Sion is so freaking slow which causes your passive to be wasted 70% of the times you die simply because you cannot catch anyone. Even with
Boots Of Swiftness and the speed burst ability you can hardly catch anyone, and I mean anyone. Be it because they simply outrun you or they cast even a 1 second stun or slow. This seriously needs to be reworked, like a 25% speed bonus for
Sion upon death, or nearby enemy champions are slowed 15% for 2 seconds upon killing you, or even immunity to spells during your passive just like your ulti. They could still knock you around, physically stun you, flash or use skills to away, or simply outrun you, but at least then the passive would be useful.
---Third,
Sions W shield doesn't do jack. Even in early game, a simple attack by
,
,
or the like will completely destroy it and then some. Not to mention that in late game it's even infinitely more useless. **Here's an interesting idea for his W: **It shields him for twice the HP damage he's taken in the past 2 seconds, capping out at a maximum amount based on level and AP. This means that if he's taken no damage in the past 2 seconds, the shield won't do anything. But if he's taken 200 damage in the past 2 seconds, he will shield himself for 400. This will not only make it a useful skill, it will also make it require more skill to adequately use, and make for more intense gameplay. Even shielding for 100% or 50% would be a greatly needed improvement.
---Fourth, ~~ (Oh boy, I'm just getting started) ~~
Sions ulti, Unstoppable Onslaught, is a grade A+ concept with a grade C- execution. The idea of charging from further away to deal more damage makes sense and works well. However, it's incredibly hard, if not impossible, to figure out how far back you need to be to deal a certain amount of damage. Furthermore Why does it stop when it hits a destroyed tower? It's the UNSTOPPABLE ONSLAUGHT for pete's sake, not the "Onslaught Stoppable by Rubble and Tiny Ferns"!
---Fifth,
Sions Q is way too easy to dodge. For his primary means of damaging the enemy, it's extremely unreliable. I can't even count how many times
, or
, or
, or really anybody else has simply tripped a step to the left or the right and dodged my attack completely, leaving me completely vulnerable to attacks while the unreliable Q cools off again, during which time you almost always die.** Here's an idea: **Either make the attack area for Q about 50% wider, have it not take several seconds to charge up, or make it grant
Sion some bonus Armor and Magic Resist for a couple of seconds if it charges and misses completely.
Out of all of these I would say the first three are things **that absolutely MUST **be addressed, without exception. The fourth and fifth also should be looked at, but aren't as gamebreaking as they are really unfair. I don't want Sion to be OP like
, but he should be on the same level as the other champions.
