Two ADC builds; lets see the damage they do.

item 3031 item 3006 item 3046 item 3035 item 3072 item 3026 item 3172 item 3006 item 3085 item 3035 item 3072 item 3071

Assuming 300AD, at crits every other hit; 1.0asp (1 attack every second) 300+300(2.5)

Assuming 300AD 1.3 asp (4 attacks every 3 seconds) 60+(32x)+0.6(+0.3x)

In ten seconds.... 300x5+750x5= 5250 (10 hits) Vs 300x13+60+32x12+180+90x12= 5604 (13 hits)

Looks preeeeetty similar.... What are the numbers when one has the same attack speed, though?

300x10+60+32x19+180+90x9= 4658 (10 hits) Doing the math, the difference between the values is 946; 94.6 damage per hit would be needed to bump the value up to the regular amount. Looks like with the same amount of attack speed, the one with lots of bonus damage people complain about needs almost a hundred to just match her cookie cutter counterparts...

its because in one build you have 4 damage items and in the other you have 5... how stupid are you?

like, there is GA for a reason. if you want to cut the GA for full damage, add a scimitar or another PD or add a scimitar and cut the boots for pd/zephyr.

As an ADC you are also almost never attacking with 100% efficiency (utilizing 100% of attack speed). Which is why higher damage per hit is preferential to larger number of hits per second.

You also have a GA in build #1..

People that don't move their Boots to "1" are the worst.

someone addressed this in another post, but the reason critical damage is more popular is because it allows for instant burst damage compared to higher sustain and controlled damage

imagine a situation where your enemy is on top of you, ready to unleash their full combo...you have to either kill them or escape, if you escape, you are potentially still in the dead zone, but, some enemies are too tough to kill

sustain with attack speed works well against tanks, sustain with criticals works well when you need a guaranteed kill

personally, the build depends upon the champion

a champion like Sivir, for instance, would work well with an attack speed build using damaging items such as item 3085 and item 3087 because it allows her to spread as much damage as possible with her lower range and lack of offensive abilities, but it costs her some offense in the building stages

now compare that to someone like ashe, who will benefit more from the damaging critical items and things get complicated
