PSA: A champion getting "gutted" isn't a good thing.

To those who want strong champions like Zed or Xin to be "gutted," don't use that phrase. Gutted essentially means the champion becomes virtually unplayable and become a detriment to the team if picked.

Suitable substitutes include: -Nerfed -Balanced -Power shifted -Reworked -OR you can just talk about their strengths and weaknesses rather than wishing for the champion to become trash tier. Your call.

Gutting a champion is a good choice in one situation (as far as i can see):

-The champion is completely dominant and game-defining, completely reshaping the way everyone else has to play the game, and showing up in nearly all, if not 100% of games; the balance team cannot think of an appropriate approach to balancing this champion, and as such would "gut" the champion because they are 100% sure the game would be healthier with them being bad to the point of uselessness.

And right now, I don't think a single champion is at this point, so as far as I am concerned, nobody should be asking for champs to get gutted.

I agree that if a champion is being too troublesome, keeping them relatively weak is the best choice until a better fix is found.

However, just flat-out asking for a champion to get gutted is by far the worst recommendation people keep giving to Riot. I just don't understand why people would disagree with that.

Oh yeah, people massively over-use this idea. I just feel that under VERY specific circumstances (which i do not see in the current gamestate) it can be the best course of action.

Which shouldn't happen to begin with because Riot actually playtests champions before they release them.

Most of the time.
