Few melee champions can go near him. After he gets Zhonya, it's basically over.

I think that Yasuo, Yorick and Zed can lane vs him. Singed will just go to proxy. Trynda, Voli, Rengar and so on can cheese him lvl 1, but later are in a bad spot. If any other champion goes near him or tries to destroy his turrets, Heimer will use his stun and it's a free kill. (Maybe Nasus can play vs him, if he stacks MR?)

Heimer is countered by long range ADC and mages - Xerath, Varus, Ashe, Cait etc. Better swap lane with someone.

You know, I really hate Heimer, and often have difficulty laning against him, but here are some thoughts.

  1. Determine what Heimer is doing before minions spawn. There are 2 general possibilities: he will set up his turrets in-lane, or he will try to take a jungle camp for a level advantage. (Note: Heimer can take said camp without needing TP to recover lost HP) If he isn't in-lane early, odds are he will be in the jungle, probably at Gromp. If he is in-lane, jsut clear his turrets (dodge the laser) and recall before minions spawn. If he is in the jungle, try to get some help from your team to go in and clear his turrets. This is basically to stop him from starting the lane with either 3 pre-placed turrets or a lvl advantage.

  2. The laser fired when the bar is full is the worst of the turret damage. You can bait it out easily enough by walking in-range and then sidestepping, or waiting until minions proc the beam attack. Be very very VERY cautious about moving forward if all 3 turrets have the bean attack ready.

  3. The little gears Heimer has floating around him indicate how many turrets he can place in rapid succession(1 per second). If he has no gears, he can't place any normal turrets.

  4. Assuming you don't get behind (see point 1), try to remove as many turrets as possible, either from range, or with melee attacks. The turrets will attack the nearest enemy, so minions will tank shots for you, unless Heimer AAs you, which causes his turrets to change targets.

  5. Dodge the grenade.

  6. Heimer is not tanky, at all. Most melee champs will tear through his HP within a couple of seconds if they can hit him. So if you can clear a path through the turrets without getting obliterabted and engage when he does not have any more turrets to put down, he can be killed quickly. Also, Heimer is really vunerable to ganks without turrets up, especially if your jungler runs purple smite to stun the ult turret.

  7. Heimer's ult turret is utter bullshit vs. melee champs. If your going to all-in, kill him and gtfo before the turret kills you.

Great post, thank you for the insight! Gnar

Don't try to fight him early. If you are good at cs'ing you can actually outfarm him since his turrets give him no agency regarding last-hitting, just accept the fact that he turns it into a farm lane in the same way you had to accept the fact that old Darius was not to be fucked with in lane. His turret damage falls off later on and even the slightest bit of magic resist makes a big difference when fighting him.

I hope you know how to last hit under turret cause you already lost your lane. Good thing hes mediocre as a team champion and easy to gank if you coordinate who tanks those turrets lmao.... welp I hate facing him in general unless im ranged.. just pick Fizz and wait til youre 6 and roam when he gets a lot of MR or Zhonya

If Heimer is going to be facing you, or you think a Heimer pick is likely but you main melee pick someone who is good at hit and run trades and can sustain like a pro. Then all you have to do is ward well and become the potion master you always thought you could be.

Heimer doesn't really do well with sustain, so you'll push him out of lane and not fall behind. If you're lucky he'll be greedy and die once he's low enough for you to safely all in. You won't snowball against him, but if your goal is to simply keep up with him and focus on the mid/late game rather than the early game you'll do just fine.

Keep in mind Heimer naturally pushes lane, so if you don't know how to do it already look up some guides on minion wave manipulation, so you can farm safely on your side of the lane. Like you said the jungler won't want to gank, however the further Heimer is from his turret the safer it is for you to all in him once he's low. Just keep up on those potions.

lol easy just wait for the turrets to have shot the hard laser i mean the white bar under the turret.... the turret basic attacks don't do much..... try to keep out of the other turrets range and rush to destroy heimers turrets early game it has a long cooldown ^^ and he can only place 1 at a time in early :P that way you deny his farm since most heimers are bad at last hitting XD

Pick AP spellvamp Nunu with smite and be equally bullshit as you eat and smite his turrets.
