It was just a norm 3s game with a bot on my team feeding, but this is just my weekly Lee Sin post.
He's got too much. You can lane him and jungle/roam without losing HP or lane presence, play him as an AD Caster/assasin, play him with a sightstone and out duel people that build combat stats, play him as a tank that can still delete squishies.
I agree he isn't "effective" in late game 5v5 situations, but he's out right broken in early game skirmishes or whenever he's ahead. He can't be caught/chased/escaped from and he has a kit that can duel anyone he finds.
In a late game scenario it takes a little more skill to play, but he still finds a purpose with an effective ult. He's easy to be slightly tanky on late game so he can always engage like any other fighter/tank.
I'm pretty closed minded, biased, bigoted, etc. I believe the only reason Lee Sin hasn't had an entire portion of his kit out right removed is that he is fun to watch in Esports. He remains one of the top junglers for years in a row no matter what meta is in flavor, because he is the king of all trades when played competently.
I don't know who still play lane Lee Sin nowadays.
Like I said, Lee Sin is heavily gated by energy and cooldowns during late game. He is actually very bad late game in this current meta. He is outclassed by tanks that are superior to him during late game.
The only reason that "tank Lee Sin" is diving into your backline and killing your carry is because your carry was positioned badly and others were not peeling Lee Sin off and killing him or just disengaging. Lee Sin relies heavily on his passive to keep his energy up, but it's impossible to autoattack during late game teamfights.
I will give you the fact that when played right, Lee Sin has a powerful early game but don't try to insinuate that his late game is anywhere but bad compared to someone like Sejuani or other tank junglers or reliable champions.
