What the F*** are you suppposed to do against garen?

Are there any counters to him, because I can't seem to do anything to him most of the time, with his innate tankiness, his Q speed (which also cleanses slows), his W (whcih gives damage reduction AND CC reduction), and his "I win this fight" button? oh let's not forget the free mini warmogs he gets at 11 so you can't even poke him out anymore unless you're constantly poking. How is this healthy for the game when the main thing is to kite him, when he has q and W to close the gap easily

I hate Garen. I love his character, and everything about him except playing against him. And that's enough for me to hate him. However, he actually has a few good counterpoints you can exploit.

Very little outplay potential - Garen, or rather the person playing him, has to use their game knowledge with his very basic kit. This leads to him being more predictable than most champions like say, Ahri as an example.
Kitable - Now I don't say he's easily kitable because of that Q and the fact that I suck at facing Garen, but I have had success with this before. You state that with his Q and W he's unkitable, which is simply untrue. If facing Garen, play a champ with some hard CC/disengage to make sure that whenever his silence is over, or if you are able to push him back/CC him before he gets to you, he immediately loses all chase potential and is basically a sitting duck unless he is right next to you at that point.
