Here is how I counter zed: pick Annie get item 3191 item 3047 when he all ins you, press e you take surprisingly little damage, which is what happened in my 1st preseason game

MysticDreams121 votes

Yeah but what if you pick before the enemy mid does? You just pick Annie every time or what?

You pick whoever you want, and then just hope you can dodge enough WEQs from him to prevent him from killing you. He'll push to your tower and then maybe go roaming... then you PING and you pray your team backs off. If they don't... then they deserve the Loss (unfortunately you lose too).

Just know that past 25 minutes unless he's grossly ahead (and he shouldn't be if you played safe and your team backed off), he's one of the most garbage champs in the game to team fight with. He does what any other burst mage does except with half the reliability, almost no AOE, and reliable no ranged damage and a large number of champs can make his team fight near impossible.

Yeah that's why I hate him so freaking much.

I like to play immobile mages, and it's so hard to compete with him, and he makes the match no fun. Only one I've been able to use effectively against him was Cho'Gath, which I don't like playing tanks too often either.

Ugh!

Well I mean basically... assuming you play perfectly or with superior skill, you won't die in the lane. And then it gets to mid and late game, you should be able to do MUCH more than him in team fights (he's a garbage team fighter unless super fed).

But before you get to that point, there's a 50/50 chance he'll roam and your idiotic team will feed him kills and that by mid game your team decides to FF rather than play with your delayed power spike.

So half the game is in the hands of your team (are they smart enough to back off?)

If everyone were playing like a super computer... then theoretically Zed should always be an inferior pick to a meta immobile mage.

When you pick Zed you're gambling that either your laner doesn't know how to survive against you and/or their team will be dumb and give you tons of roam kills. Since its Solo Q with lots of bad players, its not an unreasonable bet. But its also why he's not used in LCS etc...

Yeah I know, most of the time he goes bot and gets fed there. Then he's even harder to kill and peel off the ADC with.

Ugh.

Getting good is counter-play. [sg-miss-fortune]

You would think at least 1 person on a team is good enough to counterplay a Zed. Sadly, I've seen entire teams wiped out in the early game. This indicates a bigger problem with the champ than just 'getting good', get over it.

You would think a team is good enough to counterplay a Zed. Fortunately, I've seen entire teams wipe out Zeds in all stages of the game. My Zed, other Zeds, etc. This indicates a bigger problem with you than just 'no counter-play BabyRage". Get good.

no, its a zed problem. And this goes when he's on my team as well. Its not even a real game. Thanks for your toxic input though. It'll be filed with the rest of the trash.

You see, I and others have always offered complete guidelines as to how to keep Zed behind, and what actions to take in order to not risk getting him ahead. Meanwhile, you in all your Challenger-esque glory keep blocking them out and sticking to your own mantra of: "If I can't beat it, it's too op". You've offered no real points as to what the problem is-- just that if you get Zhonya's as mid to counter him, he'll roam into another lane and get kills there (which isn't his fault-- it's your teammate's fault and yours IF you didn't ping missing), as well as the age old: "He can ult twice in the duration of Zhonya's CD". It's fairly simple, and now, this might seem a bit foreign to you, but try this:

IF HIS ULTIMATE IS UP WHILE YOUR ZHONYA'S IS DOWN, PLAY SAFELY UNTIL HE EITHER LEAVES YOU ALONE/FUCKS UP, UNTIL YOUR ZHONYA'S IS BACK UP, OR UNTIL YOU HAVE YOUR TEAM WITH YOU

A Zed's greatest weakness is a team-fight. If you fail to recognize that this late into your League career and play around it (which doesn't even require any intensive mechanics), then the only thing for anyone to ponder is whether you should uninstall or simply sell your account to a competent player who understands basic game knowledge, as well as class strengths and weaknesses. A very foreign concept, I assume. [sg-miss-fortune]

I played against a Zed earlier today as Fiddlesticks mid. He literally couldn't do anything to me in lane. My E can match his waveclear, I heal all his poke with my W, and if he ever goes all in I just press Q and walk away laughing. He wants to roam bot? Too bad, Fiddle has better roams than Zed. Fiddle also loves to pick up an early item 3157 because of how his ult works, and it's even easier to counter him now that you can start the game with item 2420 . I'm tellin' ya, Fiddle mid is the hardest counter any AD assassin mid can have. There's literally no counterplay.
