Please riot don't ruin IE for all none ADCs

IE is most commonly built on adcs

I understand that riot wants to make PD more powerful and increase the decision making between it and shiv, but this powerswapp is not the way to go about that.

ADCs are the only real class that can buy both IE+PD there are very few exceptions to this. End of the day this is same end result for adc but a nerf to anyone who would buy just an IE (some bruisers assassins) or those that would want IE and specifically NOT a PD

Some examples would be

Talon - this guy got hurt with the silence nerf, but when playing him a combination of Youmou + IE is solid the active for closing in on people, the combined crit chance and damage for taking out targets, the crit damage and the armor pen make a nice little combo for him. New PD does nto fit in there nicely so just a damage nerf there.

Gangplank - the good ol tri+ie+shiv core is great on him the guy can be scary to squshies but isn't in the best place right now overall, for the one who is probably most reliant on crit the nerf hurts. PD just doesn't work as well on him. GP loves the on hit proc from shiv and the gold building in avarice for a bit of a bank route is great.

other effected champs include, trynd, yi, etc... melee champs who favor damage

EDIT 5% crit chance is being moved from IE to PD

They should just change how crit works. It is downright ridiculous that they refuse to do so, when math proves that in the end it will be the same, and because the end result shall be the same, we can FINALLY balance it properly.

I think a powerswap between IE and PD is a lot better than leaving IE in its current place. IE is currently rushed on just about every traditional marksman, making bot lane focus less on skill and more on the RNG that comes out of critical strikes, while PD currently currently isn't bought because its stats and passive do not make it worth picking up over the better alternative, Shiv.

IE + PD will provide more damage, while IE + Shiv will have a little bit more waveclear but less actual damage. But most importantly, hopefully ADC's will stop rushing IE in the bot lane.

They're doing it so IE is weaker in the early game, not to really make PD any stronger.

Top champions who'll be affected thanks to Shiv not receiving the same modification:

Jinx Tristana Graves Lucian Tryndamere Yasuo Ashe Shaco Gangplank

Yeah, I think we can live with this. Either they are already over-powered and need the slight nerf or they're under-powered and might finally receive attention.

It does hurt certain ADCs, specificly those that build IE and are already on the edge on non-viable. I think this makes indirect nerf #3 for Ashe, and she has not been especially effective since S1.

EDIT: Now that I had some time to think, Ashe/Zyra was effective in S2, although a lot of that was the strength of Zyra, making up for Ashe's lack of damage.

Gangplank IS an ADC though. Or atleast he was classified as a Carry along the same lines as Yi and Tryndamere was.

BT+PD+LW,Brok or another PD is the next item. I think I'll forget IE after this patch.

I'm all for the swap, for the most part. IE should be THE crit item, which it is, but it also happens to have the highest AD an item can get aside from Maw of Malmortius at low HPs and a highly stacked Sword of the Occult. It's super overpowered, and it's been obvious for a long while. The only question I have is: Why cut crit from the item instead of AD? Make the ADC champs pack on that AD separately, don't make them a jack-of-all-trades on one item...

Well they can't buff Statikk Shiv because YasuOP

They can't leave that crit because IE is clouding all other item choices that ADCs rush.

Well it's not the first time average/ lower tier champions gets nerfed due to ADCs being overpowered. Every melees got nerfed super hard with Dblade changes in season 4 since it was overpowered on ADCs/ranged champions. Now IE gets nerfed for subpar champions due to ADC being overpowered. Maybe if Riot actually focused on nerfing ADC instead they would make this game balanced, but all they do is nerf everything else.

Couldn't they just make it so that if your melee, you get 25% crit chance and if your ranged, you get 20% crit chance? If they just keep the crit chance attached to Phantom Dancer it wont make melee carries more viable since they need to rush out that Statikk Shiv.

IE should just be removed outright, like how item 3128 is getting the axe.

Games shouldn't be decided by who gets the first IE crit.

Yes the bot lane changes are needed and the IE change is good for the bot lane BUT some justice is needed for the other affected parties? With a side of get rid of crits all together.
