See title. 2x Critical Strike chance is too efficient.
x2 Crit chance is honestly not that amazing, where Yasou's passive really shines is that it combines x2 crit with a rapidly generating HP shield..
2 halfway decent passives in one is one pretty solid passive.
Especially if you make the argument having Flow's only use placed in his passive more or less gives him a manaless kit through his passive.
The crit chance by itself is pretty unimpressive though. For a passive it's not bad, but compared to most passive QWE steroids it's frankly really average.
X2 crit at 90% total damage on a crit means Yasou is doing 0.000% more damage than the next guy with 0% crit chance, and he's pumping out 180% when the next guy is pumping out 150%, or he's doing 225% with IE when the next guy is doing 175% with IE.
Which is 20% or ~29% more DPS than the next guy with the same items, assuming the next guy has 0 AA steroids.
Frankly terrible when you consider Janna's +50 AD steroid is going to allow her more AA DPS with 172 or less AD, Taric's 70 AD steroid will allow for more DPS with 241 AD, and Alistar's 90 AD steroid will allow for more AA DPS with 310 AD or less.
These are all supports. Supports with more damage than Yasou's double-crit steroid for a good portion of the game with IE.
This is sad.
It's also worth noting "Mage" is the only archetype that doesn't come with some type of AA steroid or on-hit bonus more than 50% of the time. So Yasou isn't going to be doing 20~29% more DPS than a typical Tank, Fighter, Assassin, Marksman, or Support with the same build.
Double Crit is especially really unimpressive when you compare Yasou to another glass-cannon with a crit heavy build.
In one of the more extreeme examples, consider a 70 AD steroid and what essentially works out to 70 True Damage every hit vs. 2k HP targets ((60+8% of 2k (160))/3).
As squishies ramp up to ~75 armor @18 (42% damage reduction), you're talking The equivalent of ~134 AD vs. a 2k HP squishy, when combined with the 70 AD from Final Hour: the equivalent of 204 AD. Which Yasou's double crit steroid would need more than 700 AD backing it to surpass.
It's also worth noting for this base armor isn't penetrated by Yasou's ultimate at all and we're comparing squishies, vs. heavily armored targets Vayne's Silver Bolts is going to ramp up into a pretty extreme steroid when Yasou can actually factor in bonus armor penetrations.
Final point here: Average game only lasts ~33 minutes and sees ~11k gold per player. Or around 3 major 3k items, 1k in boots, and 1k in the bank when a Nexus explodes.
While it's all fun and games to point out Janna's 172 total AD surpassing Yasou isn't _that _high, you're only looking at ~240 total AD with level 18 bases (110), IE (80), Last Whisper (40), Statick Shiv (0) and 10 misc. in masteries and runes (10).
So full AD adventures Janna will hit harder than Yasou for a solid ~71% of a typical game.
And I'd argue the first 71% of a game is considerably more important than the latter 29%.
Also - Janna's steroid boosts her DPS vs. towers, Inhibitors, and the Nexus. Yasou's does not.
It allows him, with 10% from Runes, to get 100% Crit in 2 items, over 400 AD (Meaning basic attacks deal approx 1000 damage), 8% Current Health on-hit, +120% Attack Speed, 32% Lifesteal, and 35% Armor Penetration at full build.
I feel like it's worth pointing out:
Being overpowered is all about context.
To add any meaning to your number salad here, it's worth putting into context:
- champions aren't purple-caster minions. All of them have skills that do things, boosting their power and capabilities in ~20 ways.
- champions can all purchase the same items Yasou can. Listing things like 8% current HP hit, life steal, armor pen, AS, and AD when those are universal and item-based stats Yasou isn't enhancing in any particular way with his kit is largely meaningless. Bringing up those bonuses would be "AD itemization is OP" not "Yasou is OP".
- Average game just doesn't last long enough to even build all the items you're pointing out. One of the reasons Riven is seen as a solid champion is she specifically doesn't need any items to kill things. In that context - needing a 18k 60 minute game build to seem strong is incredibly counter-intuitive.
Put in-context, Yasou isn't exactly game-breaking.
He's pretty average.
