Why is new Aatrox's basic attack animation so rigid? It freezes at its end.

Unlike any other champion in the entire game, Aatrox simply... Freezes at the end of his basic attack animation. It looks hideous. Why the lazy work on those animations when everything else is so flashy?

When his W is activated, it makes him walk in place, even if he's standing still.

Riot rushed the champion out before he was finished.

Yep. They did.

Not only that, but they even said the model (very clearly) wasn't up to standard, and they would be adding the wings. Just, not until a few weeks after release of course.. for some reason.

Well, no, to be fair, that was due to community feedback.

Hmmm that's fair. I think it's more of an underlying issue in the rework speed in general. The announcement came out, everyone saw his model, and the immediate visual complaint was the missing wings. It was a pretty distinct part of his model, and while the overwhelming majority wanted to see it back, they pushed it to live anyway. Sort of like on-disc DLC LOL. It just feels strange to release a champion that you know will have a model overhaul in a couple of weeks imo

I mean, why wait though, the champion is ready to go, why push it back another 2 weeks when you can simply add the wings on later, it ain't that big an addition (nor is it an overhaul). Pushing back things messes up schedules and production lines.

Hmmm I can understand that point of view, but where do you draw the line? Why not release lower quality models when the champ's ability functionality is working and then update it as the design team makes progress? (And to be totally honest, I think the production lines need to be slowed waaaaaay down anyway LOL)

Because it's already a fully functional, high quality model. Now, it may not live up to expectation, but there's no reason to delay something which by their own standards is 100% complete. The wings are just the 110%. What mattered more, was the texture update he got before coming out.
