I blame myself for every loss

This last game my teams mid had 17 deaths, but I honestly feel its my fault we lost.

For example: their adc was always grouped in team fights, while ours split off despite it being 40 mins into a game.

As a result teamfights were lost, however...

If my map awareness was better i'd have been able to make better decisions with the fact that our adc was awol in mind.

Instead I just assumed the adc was grouped with the rest of us. Most people would rage at the adc, but I blame myself

That's the mindset everyone needs to have.

Because the only person on the team you can control is yourself. If everyone expects everyone else to be amazing, no one will be. But if everone puts it on themselves to right all the wrongs, the team will flourish.

I love your mentality. I do the same. At some point though, it's not all on your shoulder.

With that attitude though, you will improve.

If I die as a top laner then I definitely know for a fact that somehow it was the supports fault for not roaming top lane...

I get what you're saying, Im just a lowly bronzie trying to climb out of the pit, but I've seen that many a time (The solo- split pushing adc), and after enough times of them dying solo to 1-2 people I've developed something of a counter-strategy. I generally play jungle or mid, so what i'll do is hide out in a jungle brush nearby the lane our adc is solo-pushing using scrying plant/sweeper to make sure i am not spotted/in fog of war, and ill tell the other three on the team to push the next lane over, that way if a solo enemy tries to come kill the adc I can usually 1v1 them w/ the element of surprise, and if 2+ come I'll try to fall back to my adc to make it a 2v2.

Of course as always this is a team game and you have to depend on your team to some extent to win games, but you will have a better chance of doing this and assisting them if you recognize things about their playstyle and adapt to it.

We need more of this mentality in league. Even if someone is playing like shit and feeds uncontrollably, I still try to take blame for the loss. I always try to go through a list of question for myself every game

Did I try to gank or roam for them early on to offset an early death if it was possible?

Was I even paying attention to the mini map to know when I could and should have helped them?

Did I offer helpful advice or strategies to them that would help them be much safer and catch up? (saying "Stop feeding" or "Stop dying so much" doesn't help people, it really doesn't.)

Did I let them get farm so that they could catch up?

Did I ward deep towards their lane so that if their fed laner comes out I don't start falling behind too?

Did I pick a champion or go for a certain build that was bad for the team comp?

Did I make the right calls in grouping, split pushing, and objectives?

Every game I lose where I think that someone was just feeding horribly (not inting, there really isn't much you can do about losing in that situation) I ask myself these questions, and often times I find that there was quite a bit that I could have done differently in the game that could have led to a different result. If you just afk farm in your lane and get kills on your laner only, you can't expect your behind teammates to magically be not behind anymore. Yes you can hard carry games even with feeding teammates, but it is much safer to have everyone fairly even in gold and be a threat so that the enemy team doesn't just have to worry about taking only you down. It's a team game and we need to help our teammates, even if they suck for that round.

NO! Don't take the blame for everything. The link below explains why. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/fe/24/cc/fe24cc6d7a441eeda5f35927b5492a77.jpg

There's always something you can do, it's just outweighted by the impact of the other 9 unknown people who are also playing the game.

While recognizing your mistakes is a very important skill, there isn't anything wrong with saying X is why we lost. It's a lot better to understand why you lost that game/fight/trade because making it seem like it's all your own fault means you'll lack the confidence to pull the plays to win a game, such as a baron bait/baron rush.

Most mistakes that you probably can't recognize, micro-mistakes like jungle pathing and some wave control is learned through experience as long as you pay enough attention to what was going on.

Overall, most common mistakes are simply just error in building.

Same with me. But I don't ever completely blame myself, or even react negatively to someone ruining the game. I just try to make it right, and give the blame to where it is deserved.

(I never call them out though, I'm too nice for that. Just try to assign blame where it's supposed to be, don't take it all upon yourself. But don't call them out negatively, if you can, help them and show them where they went wrong.)

THE BOT LANE KEPT DYING!

I WISH I WAS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SAVE THEM!

(Skywalker rage)

I want the power to carry my team. To stop the ones I love from dying.

This is the mindset you need to climb because it helps, however, despite mindset it is without a doubt the midlaners fault. 17 deaths contributed quite a bit.

However having this mindset is the best way to climb regardless because it teaches you to play to improve. You can still get challenger while being toxic tho.
