"Current thinking is that we'll put the stacking movement speed back on."

I had to do a double take to make sure.

You're REVERTING a DESPERATELY NEEDED NERF-REVERSION, after, what, ONE DAY of APPARENT HARDCORE EVELYNN testing on the PBE?

What the HECK was Evelynn doing on the PBE that warranted an immediate nerf? I want to see videos of this!

Did she actually win a match?

We'll be testing out a couple of different possible buffs. We agree Eve needs a bit of help, but are still figuring out what exact changes that should entail.

What's the exact role riot wants out of Evelynn anyways?

AP? AD? Tank? Chaser/sticky assassin? TF abuser? Jack of all trades but a master of none?

TBH I'm not even sure right now if she's meant to be a mid laner or a jungler.

Are you open to suggestions?

I believe the issue is that many suggestions the community, and my self, have offered often go unanswered even when they appear to be simple changes.

It would be appreciated if some feedback was provided, or if there was insight as to the direction you plan to go with evelynn.

It is vexing when changes occur despite protest from the community, especially whn those changes do.more harm than good.

Personally, i have moved.on to other, better junglers. I doubt.my input will ever be considered or requested.

Please be before the next patch, I don't want to go another patch playing with an even-more-nerfed version of Eve.

Eve's biggest problem always has been and always will be her identity, the same problem that all invisibility based champions face: you immediately kill them coming out of stealth of you don't. This is Rengar's problem, this was Kha's problem, this was Twitch's problem, and even Eve's problem. A champion that can go undetected by most wards in a game leads to issues with counter play.

To fix her? I don't know. Lower damage output? Maybe. Increase invisibility duration? You could I guess. Increase all stats when invisible which are immediately lost on exiting stealth? It's an idea. I'm not the balance team, but these are just ideas.

I actually think that Evelynn's variety of stealth is the healthiest in the game for exactly the reason you mention above. Unless she uses flash, Evelynn cannot kill you from out of stealth. Her stealth allows her to set up ganks from interesting angles, and move around unseen, but she cannot pull the jumpscare tactics of Rengar, Kha'Zix, or Twitch. I think her identity is more about "being sneaky" and "attacking from any angle" than the "invisible assassin" identity that Rengar, Kha'Zix, and Twitch aim for.

I was thinking about this and was wondering if maybe it can be like with Shyvana's Burnout.

Burnout last for 3 seconds but get an extra second for each auto attack during that time up to 4 more seconds (total of 7 seconds of burnout.)

Soo...why not do that with Evelynn and her Hate Spikes?

So then she get the % movement speed buff that last 3 seconds, but hitting a champion (not minons/monsters) with Hate Spikes will increase the duration of Dark Frenzy by 1 second for maybe 3-4 more seconds?

So by the time you're testint "a couple of different possible buffs", please remove the reset (introduced by someone who absolutely resumed Evelynn to her perma-stealth) and bring back her passive ms boost, while you decide what to do with her. With these changes you didn't reach your meta and more then that: you removed a great part of her late-game fun. With one patch you nerfed her and, at the same time, made Eve players still more disappointed -even tough she was perma-stealth from the queu, indeed she had a small fan club.

Cause I'm starting to think you really hate Evelynn. The changes to her W brought a counterplay she did not have until patch 5.6. A fully stacked MS Eve would dodge any skill shot by level 17-18. I'm starting to believe you did excactly what you want: just removed the "gotta go fast" part of her kit simply cause you wanted even more counterplay, so enemy Leblanc, Zed, or Morgana won't miss their combo into the un-welcome Evelynn.

The passive move speed buff back on the W is the right way to go (like that was on the previous PBR patch), but I feel like it being on all the time might be a bit too strong. Perhaps you could add into the passive that the move speed buff when hitting abilities is only active when the W is off cooldown. IE: if you've just used your W and it's on cooldown, you don't get the movespeed buff anymore vs champs.

Before you guys make any changes to Eve, you really really need to decide what you want Eve to be.

Or better yet, make a big topic about remaking Eve and let the community give some input.

I loved OLD Eve. Even intentionally gimped Eve was fun, if intentionally gimped. I felt really burned when Eve's remake went live since it totally lost her skirmisher, in and out play style. The nuance of her Ult heal was replaced with a completely brain-dead all-in shield. She really, really needs a complete remake. Just tweaking numbers here and there aren't going to fix her fundamental issues (ignores wards, must be gimped).

Lower her damage further? Seriously?

She has.some.of the worst early.game damage in the game. Bah whatever. Riot wants.u to.play other champs.

lightdragoon881 votes

They usually have to lock in the content for the next patch around this time. They probably didn't want it to go live until they got more PBE data testing.

No way, the new cycle barely just started.

lightdragoon881 votes

It has been a week. That usually when they lock changes in.

They reverted other changes too. No need to lose your shit, happens all the time.

Evelyn would have been broken with the Movement speed stacking.

She's already in a good spot with Cinderhulk.

I used to play Evelynn a lot. To me, her identity has always been that of an early-game assassin. Specifically, what I wanted to do was do a first clear, and then attack any lane that was pushed out, and then I would have the ability to kill them, with laner assistance, of course. Lategame, I had to be a lot more careful, because if I tried the usuall attack-from-behind that worked so well in laning phase, I would essentially 1v5'ing, and even her ult isn't enough to tank that and survive. As an old-timer, I would like to keep this playstyle. To counter it, you can either not push, or buy pinks for your lane brushes to detect a flank.
