The worst VGUs are the useless ones

I'm 10 times happier to see Irelia Akali Swain reworks in comparison to reworks like Nunu Yorick Warwick.

If a rework comes out and it's strong, even too strong at times, you can shave it down accordingly. Remove some elements, tune some numbers...regardless of where people agree or disagree, the champ can be toned down to fit into the game better because they have the tools they need, and the issue is that they might have a few too many or their numbers are too strong. Love 'em or hate 'em, they have their use in this game.

However, if a rework comes out and the tools in the kit are weak? You can't amp it enough to make them relevant anymore. Like, no amount of bellyaching about Yorick will make him worthwhile. Same for Nunu and Warwick. These champs look cool and embody their fantasies rather well...but who cares when they blow massive chunks? Nunu doesn't engage or disengage well enough as a tank, Yorick's whole gimmick is a noob trap (split 2 lanes at once and get bodied because your ult is off on its own ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MAP), and Warwick doesn't do anything important as a jungler that can't be covered through smart jungle play on almost anyone else. People like praising these reworks as "the good ones", but who does everyone flock to? Definitely not those guys. When have these guys been meta-relevant? Definitely not "ever". Why do people even consider these reworks good? Definitely not because they're actually good. It's more because "they look neat and they don't get in my way as I play Orianna/Anivia/Ahri/Definitely-Not-Those-Guys mid".

Over-tuned champs get nerfed, and that's fine. What I TRULY can't stand is a useless sack of shit.

I do not understand what you mean. A good nunu has great engage, cc and tank, and is a great jungler when it comes to clearing camps, and finishing the drake with a Q and smite, which is hard to beat with a single smite. Warwick is great at hunting down isolated targets, and yorick has one of the best split pushes in the entire game. Each of these 3 champions has a higher winrate than irelia, akali and swain as shown on champion.gg. I do not know what you mean my man. p.s. these are platinum plus winrates.

Great engage? The big ass snowball anyone can see from a mile away? It's good enough for ganking lanes, but he can't start a large scale fight with it. He's a warden and it's an intended weakness that his engage should be poor in comparison to vanguards.

Great cc? The tiny ass root and the snowball that needs time to scale the cc on? Or are we talking about his ult that can be canceled by any hard cc and only slows people, so you can't actually peel any enemies that has a dash off cd? Any other warden is significantly better for peel. Literally all of them. Nunu's the worst one.

No one cares about him eating jungle objectives. Getting them is the important part, and every jungler can potentially get them so this is moot.

Warwick is great at hunting down isolated targets

Warwick only finds weakened targets. Nothing about him revolves around isolated targets. In any case, using your mini-map properly alleviates most of the need for something like Warwick's W, anyhow.

and yorick has one of the best split pushes in the entire game.

Why pick him over Nasus? Or Tryndamere? Or Jax? Or Fiora if you're good at her? "Best split push in the game" coming from who? Who said that? Who told you this?

Each of these 3 champions has a higher winrate than irelia, akali and swain as shown on champion.gg.

I mean, I made threads about not using ban rates as proof of champion power, but you should use a bit more nuance than that when utilizing win rates to define champion power, as well.

Ok while I disagree with the OP a lot, this is overselling nunu a bit. He's honestly never been viable since his rework due to fundamental flaws in his kit. Literally any champion can pretty much kite him or avoid him entirely, with old nunu his sorta "back up plan" was point and click slows from respectable range nobody could avoid, on top of blood boil which was more controllable.

He's kinda that "fun" pick where if the enemy team pretty much walks into everything you do, he can put in work, but everything he does is too delayed and telegraphed, something old nunu struggled with a bit but to a much much lesser degree.

EDIT: went to verify his patch history and yea, buffs and bug fixes across the board since release yet he's hardly existant in solo queue or competitive. His E needs less of a delay then maybe he'd be picked.

Nunu is great. He’s like the old one but has a more useful kit. If you focus on tanking and objective control games are easy peasy. Warwick can use his W in ways more then just ganking. He can use it as a fear tactic like no other. Has great team fighting potential again with his ult and fear. They aren’t perfect champions but with a little bit of time behind them you can wreck house.

If they weren’t good you wouldn’t be able to pull up gameplay of them in the current patch. But just YouTube them and you’ll find em easily.
