I don't know/understand what I'm supposed to do.

Soo... I'm really late, but I'm beginning to see Season 5 as a "tank meta" and I really like to play Quinn. I started Ranking a lot only a couple of weeks ago, but I get really salty whenever I lose a game to tanks. -like Volibear ,Vi ,Udyr , Sion, and especially Mordekaiser . Before I start ranting about how annoying I think tanks are... I'm by no means a good League player. A lot of people discourage my playing Quinn, saying that she's not viable because of... 1.) Her AA Range isn't the best for an ADC. 2.) She falls off late-game. 3.) Her ultimate is bad for an ADC. 4.) Her passive is really iffy. 5.) Her E is "stupid". I agree that these are all weaknesses. Whenever I have to deal with tanks, I can't do anything. I pointed out Mordekaiser especially because our Volibear and Morgana wrecked him in lane during a Ranked game today. Then during late-game, if I tried to AA once, I would die. Even if I didn't try to AA him, their Vi would walk through my team, ult me, and then Morde would walk through my team as well, and destroy me. In other words, there was nothing I could do against him. I know that a "meta" exists, but the champions that I like to play aren't in-meta. Is it my fault that I decided to Rank with Quinn? Or is there something I'm doing wrong game-play wise? I typed this up quickly out of frustration, so it might not make sense. I'm only in Silver V and I don't know a lot about this game, so correct me if anything here is wrong.

you should really try not maining annyone

now i am a jungle main so lets asume im playing ranked and got my jungle i play allot of champs sure im better with some than other i try and practise all of them im gonne give you some examples of my champs i like to play

Amumu Khazix RekSai Sejuani Vi Gragas Chogath Udyr Shaco Nidalee Nunu i got allot more but im gonne leave it with these guys here

now i know for a fact im not that good with vi gragas udyr and kha zix (i had some good games i had some bad games but im not really good at the like how i could be with lets say sejuani)

now not think of yourself as a lol player but think of yourself as a pokemon trainer you want to win yet you also want to let your squirtle <--- water pokemon fight you notice the other trainer picks pikachu would you still pick squirtle knowing hes gonne have a dissadvantage? or are you going to pick your onyx wich gives you the advantage?

i see the enemy jungler picking a MasterYi i want to play my ap Nidalee what does this means this means that if i dont get super mega fed and end the game before he gets some items hes going to 1/2hit me later in game and i wont be able to run away cause master yi is actualy faster

so why not pick nidalee this game if i could play lets say sejuani or even amumu cause hes going to be farming for a while! so this gives me a good chance to afk farm aswel also be sure to not only check your laner but also the rest lets say i see udyr jungle and nidalee cant really duel him but i can stay out of range and poke him i played her allot i can pull this off and get fed on other lanes

but hey! there is Leblanc mid who dodges spears all days and Ezreal bottem who dodges spears all days Volibear top who is just impossible to fight

if you played Quinn enough you will be able to see if you will be usefull playing quin or be totaly useless in champ sellect there will come some games where you see hey il be able to play quin now or even games where you dont have the greatest matchup but you played quin allot and you know your good at him so youl be usefull

how ever picking him knowing you are having a terrible lane matchup is just stupid >???

I think if you pretend Quinn is Tryndamere, you may be able to win games. But that's a big maybe.

Think about it this way, if you keep yourself stable or are progressing in terms of winrates with Quinn in her actual form, when she gets fixed/buffed, chances are you'll be able to skyrocket with her. So unless you're in a rush to hit platinum for whatever reason, by all means, play Quinn.

While Quinn isnt really in the meta right now shes still a decent champion. If you want to main her in ranked, go ahead, eventually you should be good enough to figure a way to deal with the situations you were talking about.

Her auto attack range is actually not as bad as people say. Its not fantastic but its not horrible either

As for playing her top, personally I would much rather have Quinn ADC than top. If you have a Quinn top it cuts down on your teams front line, peeling force and cc. If you want to play Quinn top I think it should be a situational pick as there are many toplaners that will out duel Quinn and can just ignore your poke and kill you.

While maining a champion is perfectly fine I must stress the importance of picking according to your teams needs. Learn a few champions for each position.

I am not saying you should pick counters just because they are counters

You should pick:

  1. What goes well with your team/what your team needs
  2. What does not do bad against the other team.
  3. What you are at least somewhat decent with.

uh Morde is NOT a tank...he may look it by his design, but he is a very squishy mage.

Quinn is actually a solid pick top lane against a lot of melee carry champions. You should consider trying her up there.

I play Fiora, and she's one of my hardest match ups to deal with. I think she's also a great pick against Chogath Katarina MasterYi Garen Tryndamere Udyr Volibear . All of which you see picked pretty frequently. May I ask why you have such a problem with Volibear and Udyr? With Volibear what you should do is poke as much as possible, and when he comes in use vault. If you play hard against him from the start, then the lane is easily yours. Udyr is the same, keep poking, and use your vault.

An item you should almost always get is item 3035 . You will be up against some tanky champs up top. The armor pen on it is amazing, and you should look into armor penetration runes, but some people just prefer attack damage ones. I think item 3153 would also get a great item for a top lane Quinn to build. I think it's a great item in general. The rest is situational and up to you. Don't be afraid to build armor and HP either. There's nothing wrong with staying alive when you're against tanks that rarely die.

I don't think you should give up on maining your fave champion, just look into other ways to play them effectively.

Most of those are bruisers though... Only Sion is a tank out of those. Tbh it's more of a bruiser meta because they get really strong mid game and demolish you before you can recover and outscale them.
