Got a GrandMaster and a D4 in my SIlver match

Huh, anyone care to explain? No way they are premade, they would have gotten placed in a much higher MMR match. It means the matchmaking randomly put someone very high ranked in a SIlver match.

Somehow they lost too, that's surprising.

Normals and ranked have two different MMR.

Grandmaster and D4 vs Silver and unranked. No way these players are that bad to be put in a Silver match cuz of low MMR.

That would call for boosted accounts.

They don't, since people who play a lot of ranked don't play normals often, their MMR in normals is OBSCENELY low.

  1. It's normals.

  2. Because it's normals they don't need to 100% try hard.

This is a normal game not a silver game. Normal and ranked have different MMR.
They either don't play much normals and therefore have low MMR or premade with low MMR players.

normal mmr is influenced by ranked mmr your normal game mmr may be high too or your team mates may have been high ranked last season

normal game mmr doesn't reset with seasons

'It's just normal MMR ecks dee' is just an idiotic way to say you don't know why this happens. Normal MMR is largely unimportant. The system prioritizes creating games fast and will completely ignore MMR if it can't quickly start a close game.

It also doesn't try to create games where everyone has similar MMR, it only tries to create games where the average MMR is close, and even then, it will still just grab whoever it can to get a game going fast. It makes no effort to keep everyone's MMR close, and if there are two premades in queue, it makes even less effort.

i.e. the system will throw two Diamond players onto a team with three Bronze players against a team of five Gold players and call it a fair match, because the MMR on both teams averages it out, regardless of the two Diamond players being miles ahead of everyone. Or if there's nobody playing, it will just throw the first 10 players it can find into a game.
