Why is Neeko's superior Amumu ultimate on a 90 second base cooldown?

Neeko's ultimate pop blossom is straight up a superior version of Amumu's ultimate, Curse of the sad mummy. So why is Neeko's base cooldown half of Amumu's? Amumu's ultimate roots enemies hit for 2 seconds (which means they can still use abilities and spells) while Neeko's ultimate stuns for 1.25 seconds AFTER granting her a shield.

Amumu's ultimate has a 150 second cooldown at level 6. Neeko's ultimate has a 90 second cooldown at level 6 - this is 10 seconds shorter than the marksmen in the game, with the exception of rapid-fire ultimates.

How come Amumu's ultimate has nearly double the cooldown period when it does the exact same thing with less damage dealt and utility provided?

Why does rakan have Malphite ult on a basic ability?

Why does Vayn have Tristana's ult on her E?

Why does Yuumi get Sona's ult 7 times in a row and twice as wide?

Why does Vi get Yasuo's ult at any time without needing to get a knockup first?

Why does Pyke get an AoE Darius ult that doesn't require bleed build up?

I can make nonsensical comparisons as well.

Karthus has Fiddle ult at level 1

Miss Fortune has Gangplank ult at level 1

Nunu has Cho'Gath ult at level 1

Veigar has a ranged Thresh ult that stuns at level 1

Morgana has Anivia ult at level 1

I like this game :D

Yuumi's ult is inferior to Sona's though. It roots after a few seconds, while Sona STUNS instantly. Just fyi.

Amumu has instant cast Ultimate. Almost impossible to dodge/predict.

Pop Blossom rarely hits if you are not rooted or right next to Neeko.

Because Neeko is a new champ.

Amumu is tankier than Neeko. If he wades into the middle of the enemy team, he's likely to survive. Neeko isn't. Plus, Amumu doesn't have a cast time. Enemies don't get the opportunity to dash or flash away if they're in range. Nearly a second of extra immobility is a big deal, even though it doesn't fully stun.

give neeko amumu Q then we can talk about how good both ults are

Neeko - Delayed cast 1.25 stun.

Amumu - Instant cast 2 second entangle which is a form of cc formerly known as a disable I believe. It is a combination of a disarm and a root, so a better version of a stun.

Disarm + root is a downgrade from a stun, though. Victims can still cast spells such as skillshots. They can’t do anything but cast summoner spells while stunned.

Thought disarm stopped abilities (it doesn't), still has plenty of other merits that make it significantly better than Neeko's ult at engaging.

At engaging? Yes. But i wasn't speaking of engaging only. Neeko's ultimate is a "click button to solve problem" - it's superior to Amumu's ult because it's just as good for offense as it is for defense. Enemy lands cc on you? Ult. Enemy tries to run away from you? Ult. Engage on enemy? Ult flash. Enemy comes towards your unwarded bush? Ult. Impending teamfight? W Ult.

Amumu's ultimate is really only good when he has the initiative, and it has a very long cooldown to offset its utility. Neeko's ult does the exact same thing with an added shield on top, at half the base cooldown on a champion class that typically maxes cooldown reduction before doing anything else.

It is almost like the rest of their kits are different which warrants different power crammed into their ult.

Neeko has no mobility to hit more then one person, whereas amumu has q

Amumu has entangle so you can't auto while being rooted... Instantly. Neeko is a delayed cast.

Amumu is tanky and will likely survive so hes much less dependent on his ult

Amumus ult applies his passive debuff (+10% all magic damage as bonus true damage)

Neekos isn’t even just flat better. It’s dodgeable. Ammumu’s isn’t. :/
