"Riot shouldn't listen to the Gameplay boards since they are a biased portion of the community"

People saying those kind of things should think twice about the game state. Riot didn't listened, see what happens to this pre-season. If the majority of the community says the damage is too high, then it probably means that damage is a problem.

"BUt UUUuuuUUUUuuUUUH... ThEE BOarDs DOEsn'T rEPrESent THE cOMMunITy, SO TheY doN'T MaTTeR aT All LElLLlll!!!!11!"

Some people have been using those kind of excuses a lot recently, that the boards are just circle jerks who are the complete opposite of whats logical and that everyone using them to share their unsatisfaction about the game should tortured for doing so. Of course, those "people" are (mainly) part of some specific players bases and often main some champions who are problematic for the game (I won't name anyone, I don't want the triggered little fellas to burn my house down to defend their waifu/husbando). But, let's go back on the argument that the boards dosen't represent the community. In a statistic kind of way, they do represent the community quite well. They are mainly composed of low rank members with fewer high ranked ones who plays many different roles and types of champions. As for Reddit, its highly based on opinions; r/leagueoflegends has been memed as the haven of adc mains, but they are probably not that bad in terms of player diversity. Anyway, why should Riot ignore the boards? Because they tell the cold hard truth to everyone?

This is highly troubling that the few players who do enjoy this mess of a meta just insult everyone on the boards whenever someone is complaining about a truly flawed aspect of the game, be it runes, overpowered champions or damage in general. Thousands of players have stopped playing, dozens and dozens of regular streamers either play less and less to the favor of other games, or they either completely stop playing the game just like Dyrus. Yet, if someone on the boards say the game is messed up, you'll always see an idiot insulting them because they are using them. The boards are the specific place to put feedback, good or bad, about the game, don't shame on people because they use them goddamit. They rarely go against the popular opinion of the community, since most feedback put on them are pretty representative of what you would see on another site or in the game directly. There are no reasons to question every single piece of feedback on the boards, you are simply triggered because they go against YOUR mentality

Most of the reasons the game is like this is because they DID listen.

People asked for faster games, more mobility, more damage, but no one remembers that or has a VERY selective way of remembering it, but hey, I'm just a Riot brownnoser apparently.

But the boards really don't represent the community, and your arguments for why they do are flawed and have no data to back it up. If Riot listened to the boards, Yasuo would currently have no abilities, 5 move speed, and fight with a wet noodle, assassins would deal 1/10 of your health with a full rotation, turrets would one shot everyone... the game would actually be unplayable. The gameplay board isn't necessarily biased, it's just, more often than not, wrong.

So... you’re claiming their point is invalid, but your explanation literally validates it more.

You refuse to acknowledge in your post that the boards have no more than a couple thousand users, of whom only a few hundred are anywhere near active. There is literally no way that sample size is representative of the millions of monthly players of League - it’s statistically impossible for that sample size to have any relevant statistical power.

You also refuse to acknowledge that there is such a thing as bias towards vocalizing distaste over appreciation. The fact that there are more “fuck this” threads on the boards does not necessarily mean more people think that way - it just means that people who actually enjoy the game see no reason to come make a thread about it, especially when that thread will likely get quickly downvoted by the circlejerk that is these boards.
