5 Reasons Why Nunu is Awesome

So, I thought this was nothing special when Sky Williams said that Nunu was outdated and weak in one of his videos. But then I get another guy who comments in the 5 Most Outdated champs threads talking about how Nunu needs a rework.

Tsk tsk tsk.

Nunu is amazing. Here's 5 reasons why you should be happy to have a Nunu on your team.

1. Nunu can regularly win games without ganking lanes once. This is amazing. Nunu doesn't need to gank lanes. All he needs to do is solo dragon at 6 minutes. Then solo dragon at 12 minutes. Then solo Rift Herald at 15 minutes. Then solo dragon at 18 minutes. Then his team takes baron at 20:30 (Not starts it, takes it) and then they push and win the game with his Zz'rot Portal.

So why is winning without ganking a good thing? Because there's no risk. You can screw up ganks. You can feed doubles to someone. You can tunnel, get counterganked, someone can TP in. Ganks are risky, especially for tank champions who are typically rather immobile. Nah bro. Just smash some dragons and it doesn't matter if your loser team went 0/6 in the early game, they'll be monsters easily. Plus, baron gives 300 gold to each player, so by taking it at 20, it's like you instantly ganked every lane successfully one time. So you get permanent buffs, you get tons of free farm because you're not wasting your time ganking, AND your team isn't too far behind in gold. Win, win, check please.

2. Nunu is a god of a tank. Nunu's Consume gives him 10% increased Size and 10% increased maximum health. So he body blocks skill shots all day, and he shrugs off damage like it's nothing. Combine it with Cinderhulk. Combine it with Strength of Ages. Combine it with Spirit Visage. You just have more health than everyone else. Period. Cho'gath? Sion? Those behemoths are as squishy as Ashe compared to Nunu.

Nunu has an insanely short CD on his targeted attack speed slow. Targeted. Attack speed. Slow. You sit in fights, you slow down anyone who is a threat, they crit less, they take damage, you body block. You tank longer AND you tank better than everyone else. Only Maokai can come close to the level of damage reduced that Nunu brings to the table. And Maokai isn't nearly as awesome.

3. Nunu tilts the enemy jungler. There are many reasons for this. Maybe you decided to start their red against someone who really needs it, like Kha'Zix or Kindred. Maybe you decided to take the second red of someone who really needs it, like Kha'Zix or Kindred. Maybe that Kha'Zix or Kindred warded their third red, called his top laner to come help him take it, and even put a pink right in the middle of the freaking camp, not the bush, to DARE you to try taking his third red, and as soon as he secures that red, he hears "RAAWR! The enemy team has slain the Dragon!"

Mostly, though, it's because of that one fight. That one time where your bad teammates threw, but you didn't die because you're Nunu. The enemy team is too weak to shove lane safely so instead they pile onto baron and pray that maybe, just maybe, their crappy jungler will do ONE thing right.

And then you Flash into the pit and Q Smite.

It feels. So much better than winning. When the enemy jungler rages in all chat. I can still quote to everyone here, to this day, my all time favorite moment of League of Legends, and realize I've only mained Nunu for two years out of the four I was playing. It was against this weird jungle Akali before Poacher's Knife was removed. I just went into the enemy jungle over and over and over again. The jungle Akali got killed at her blue by me, I stole every red, she ended the game a full 3 levels behind me. And so after the game, the player added me as a friend and I'll never forget what he said. He said "I didn't get to play League of Legends that game".

That's why you want Nunu on your team. Because Nunu destroys the enemy jungler's soul.

4. Nunu split pushes like a boss.

Many people don't realize this, but Nunu actually has an ability that allows him to deal 1% of his maximum health as magic damage on every auto attack and every damaging ability. This bonus magic damage also applies to every auto attack you make against turrets. Nunu also has the ability to speed up the movement speed and attack speed of allied minions for 12 seconds, and he can build Zz'rot as part of his core build and only get tankier.

Nunu can knock down towers like a madman and he's too fast to be punished for it. Like Singed, if Singed weren't dependent on his ultimate for a speed boost.

5. His TPA skin has a brofist in the splash art. Enough said.

So, I beg of you summoners. Do not underestimate the Yeti. For the Yeti is love. The Yeti is life. The Yeti is going to find you in your jungle and take your wolves, take your gromp, take your red, take your blue, take everything. EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING YOU HAVE WILL BE SWALLOWED WHOLE AND DISAPPEAR INTO THE ICY ABYSS OF MY STOMACH! MWAHAHAHAHAHAH! HA HA! HA! Ha. ...Anyway. Nunu's pretty fun. You should try him sometime.
