Im called trash a lot for playing Kassadin ever since I was gifted the Cosmic Reaver skin, mind you, most of the players who say this are LeBlanc, Fizz, etc. But still, why do people say that Kassadin takes no skill and is overpowered?
Yes, he has his ult, but he doesn't have damage... and he can't fight at all pre-6.....

but thats because he pretty much has to be gutted sadly. kassadin's ultimate is just too powerful to give him power anywhere else which leaves him lackluster. Even faker and pawn got rekt at worlds this year on him. (was surprised they even picked him)
The ability to blink multiple times every second or so is just way too good and it makes him obnoxious when he is viable. never mind that he is also an anti mage as well which makes him the perfect pick into immobile mages as their isnt anything they can do against him once he hits 6. (think annie vs kassadin)
right now, if you pick him, you are picking him because you enjoy him imo. He is not strong or op. but his kit is cancer and toxic.
he needs a rework at this point. they have tried over and over to nerf him and it just leaves him gutted and useless.

A six second flash that deals damage if I'm not mistaken. It is a blink every 6 seconds. At level six. No other champion gets that. And the 2 seconds at 16 with max CDR is absurd. His mobility is unrivaled

a very short cast time, and it is essentially a flash as it is a blink and not a "dash". it can go through walls terrain, anything. case and point look at pawn in this years world use it 4 times in like an 8 second span in one of the games this year. it is a ridiculous ultimate.
yes the damage is low. because if you made it deal any decent amount of damage he would be pick or ban like he has in the past.
I'm not arguing with you that current kassadin is strong.
just letting you know that just about everyone knows his kit is obnoxious because of his ultimate.

assuming he is in a situation where he needs to use it 3 or more times in a row, it is safe to say he is on the run and will probably recall once he gets to safety anyway. the mana cost increase is more to prevent him from becoming super duper cheese instead of just plain obnoxious. The mana cost prevents him from just endlessly chasing you in lane or even out of it without screwing himself over. however, it does not prevent him from using his entire mana pool to essentially guarantee an escape.

The issue is, he doesn't do much damage at all, and his ult leaves him scrambling for mana if not watched closely. The issue is that Kassadin is too outclassed by all other champions that are similar to his role.

Sure early game max q and poke that's not being op. I will say this however what truly makes him op if anything is his w procs everything example the first time and only time I managed to get my build I got a penta basically last guy ran into turret and screwed me lol. Sorce shoes roa lichbane ludens and static shiv yes static shiv to combo with ludens for the aoe magic damage

1800HookMyLane1 votesKass isn't a champ you blind pick into a mid lane. He is dead weight vs an AD mid, hence the rise of Mid Zed in S3.
His passive and Q shield is what makes him strong vs Magi, he's not nearly as bursty as he used to be though. There's really no efficient way to scale him to where he's viable as a normal comfort pick, but also not game breaking.

But my last game with Kassadin, which was just now, was against Talon, and I was able to completely outplay him and get ahead, winning my lane. We lost sadly, due to a toxic trolling jungle Mundo, but still, Kassadin seems like he is weak unless in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing. I mean, come on, I got pentakill with Kassadin today....

I bought him a while ago right before he got mini-olaf'd and loved playing him so much but then the nerfs happened and I forgot about him. Started playing him again recently when that badass(adin) skin came out and I'm falling in love all over again lol.

His old kit that had Silence on his Q was absolutely broken and not fun at all to play against.

SymbolicFear1 votesSorta, but not really. His only utility is his slow, while Ahri has her charm. Kassadin takes more skill than anyone would expect as his ratios and base damages are extremely low. The only real way to boost his damage is through things such as luden's echo with the bonus damage from the item's passive.
