If buying Ornn's Item Upgrades are a trap then... why not disable them until Ornn is a certain level, until his team average is a certain level, until the 10 minute mark, or until the buyer ally is a certain level).

Or you could let people buy what they want when they want, and you personally don't to buy them because you don't want to. Weird how logical that sounds.

Early game it is trap. The items are late game boost much like the elixrs
