Bruiser Fizz? Are you okay with it, Riot?

Just beat a jungle Fizz who went Devourer, BoRK, and then got Warmog's and GA for tankiness. Umm, what part of that gameplay style says "assassin"?

I'm not really hating on the playstyle since it doesn't play to Fizz's strengths, but I'm just curious as to why so many people are playing it these days. I also want to know whether or not Riot is okay with it, or if they plan to adjust Fizz so such a build won't continue to work.

Fizz's current strengths don't involve being an AP assassin. In the mini rework they gave him, they gutted most bases and moved a lot of damage into his ult mark; however, they also made his active W do on hit missing hp. Due to his R proc increasing all damage he does to that target by 20% and the strength of onhits with his W Fizz now goes mostly tanky with AS to abuse W+R.

What's wrong with playing bruiser fizz? Its incredibly fun and its not OP at all.

Nothing besides that it's not what he's intended to do.

His intended role is weak at the moment. No point nerfing what is making Fizz viable without fixing him first.

They could give compensation buffs to his assassin role in exchange for less bruiser power.

Which is what I wish Riot would do, but knowing Riot's balance team they will probably nerf Bruiser Fizz but do nothing else to help him.

why not let the players decide what a champ is intended for? why can't the game have flex picks and versatile champs? otherwise you just get huge nerfings.

also, Fizz's secondary role is fighter, so he's a completely legit bruiser.

Bruiser Fizz has always been viable; it is just that his AP variation was so good that there was absolutely no reason to play him AD, even in the jungle. His Q on a 3 second CD used to hit ~150% AP, 175% AD, and 8% missing health. While also having a highly mobile invulnerability jump that could out run Udyr, and a high CC nuke.

However, the recent changes to his W was actually a buff to his AD style. Since it now deals the % missing health damage on hit rather than as a DoT, it made sense to stack AS. His E gives him a defensive edge that lets him survive as a brusier build, and the AD scaling on his Q remains mostly untouched.

Personally, I rather him stay AD build with a still highly competitive and decent AP build (in comparison with other champions) than reverting back to his insane AP scalings from before.

No it's not.

QSS removes 600 + 1.4*AP damage from Fizz.

He is not reliable as an assassin and contributes nothing to a teamfight once his ult is wasted, and his ult can still be countered by QSS/Zhonyas by his priority targets.

The one thing AP Fizz mid is good for is ending the game at 20 minutes by killing their mid (must be mage/no sustained output mid) over and over again with W-max strategy and making them surrender quickly, and that relies on your opponent underestimating your 5-second damage output. Otherwise, Fizz doesn't do a lot as an assassin in the later stages of the game.

Edit: and god forbid the enemy team picks Cassiopeia to counter your sorry ass, lol.

Secondary role Fighter

Should update that to Primary Role

Ad fizz is so op man. I lost a game to one. He's a late game power house.

Well, considering it is REALLY strong(you probably just played against a noob) Riot will most likely make it Fizz's new play style, or nerf it to make sure he doesn't become an AD Bruiser.
