Why we shouldn't nerf Twitch. It's really simple.

  • Twitch, in all honesty, isn't broken. He just utilizes play patterns that are naturally strong in chaotic conditions where no one's coordinating. Outside of that, he's a good champ, yeah, but not some sort of "Insta-nerf PLS" situation like people imply.

  • Even if Riot finally caved and nerfed him, he's just gonna be replaced by another marksman that we'll whine about like 4 to 7 days after, anyway. With the way marksmen go in this game, why even bother nerfing Twitch unless he's LEGIT broken, anyhow? Someone like Ezreal? Fine, all things given. He's on a massive 56% win rate in Diamond on League of Graphs, iirc. Twitch? Like...52%? That's good, yeah...but that's perfectly acceptable as a power level for a champion. Like, hello? It takes me spamming threads here on repeat and Janna having a 56% win rate before people finally start getting it on HER, but Twitch stays at a reasonable 52% win rate for a few months and everyone's going bat shit? Next time I call out someone for having a high win rate, you guys better not start back-talking me if this is gonna be the case.

Edit: Got the win rate wrong. Twitch is like 50.8% on League of Graphs in Diamond.

only problem i have with twitch is his camo radius, eve and rengo can be seen coming from halfway up the lane not to mention there is an indicator over your head when theyre about to strike, rengars being completely uncontrollable, while TWITCH can be halfway up your ass in lane and you wont even know it till the support or your lane opponent flashes on you and twitch opens up, on top of being ranged.

id be happy if they increased the detection radius and/or made his Q unusable in combat unless he gets a reset.

  • Eve has the same win rate as Twitch atm (about 50.8% in Diamond on League of Graphs). Twitch has a higher play rate, yeah, but Eve and Twitch win about the same. Eve hits you with hard cc out of stealth, and the indicator giving you away is only an issue if you don't gap close before the W completes. Otherwise, your angle of approach is generally concealed (unless you walk right up to them).

  • Rengar is a fucking mess

None of their situations have to do with Twitch not deserving nerfs, though, so people need to stop whining for them.

when eves charm is actually ready it points in the exact direction that eve is coming from, in fact, its so accurate you can land 'blind' skillshots on her with it. eves detection radius is also about 3 times higher than twitchs, if youre in Q range youre in detection range. eves E also has a pitiful dash range hence the protobelt suggestion in game.

chipndip11 votes

Yeah...WHEN IT FINISHES it has an arrow that points to your direction.

Eve and Twitch generally have about the same win rates. This whole "argument" is a moot point. The only two adcs with high win rates atm are Ezreal and Miss Fortune, anyhow. Everyone else is mild at best.

the difference being eve is a niche pick, with a much lower play rate and a .1% higher win rate. not to mention she was recently reworked so some people still dont even fully understand what exactly she does. whereas twitch can be blind picked and a comp built around him, can arguably gank lanes better than eve can thanks to his stealth radius and exclusively long range damage, and has a bursty lifesteal build late game that is almost impossible to react to if a squishy is caught by him in a 1v1 situation unless you have instant point and click hard cc + the damage to put him down instantly.

and yes "when it finishes" and as i said before you are not only outed when it finishes you are also detectable when in range of every single one of your abilities. ive actually found it more effective to legit walk up to people and try to juke/bait shit waiting for it than trying to land a max range q.

edit: my argument being its not only rare to see an eve pop the fuck off its even rarer to see her hard carry a game. can you honestly say that about twitch? no. he can get shit on in lane and it doesnt matter, if he catches waves and cleans up a single kill he is now a problem that needs to be dealt with immediately in team fights from that moment on. if eve gets put behind chances are shes not comin back.

"My argument is that an anti-carry champ can't carry a game but a hyper-carry can. Woe is we, the community."

Straw-manning, obviously, but you're comparing apples to lettuce. Assassins aren't carries. They're anti-carries. They put carries behind so their own carries can win out in the arms race. They don't do the hard-carrying themselves in most instances since they fall off as you get closer to late-game. That said, no shit Eve doesn't hard carry games like a Twitch does. That's not her job.

my entire point was that twitch can assassinate you better than either of the champs i mentioned. why is a character allowed to assassinate an entire team and take objectives faster than any other role at the same time?

i dont really understand how suggesting an adjustment to his stealth radius (or tuning the others to bring them closer to his) can earn me such hostile responses.

Literally nerf his W's waveclear effect. Problem solved.

chipndip11 votes

He doesn't need ANY nerfs atm, though. If you nerf him, you'd have to properly compensate him somehow. Leave it alone.

MistaFarenheit2 votes

you dont have to compensate a champion thats being nerfed, the entire point of nerfing a champion is to make them weaker/less appealing. he builds hurricane second as well there is no need to compensate anything concerning wave clear.

Did you not look at the graph?

i see hes banned nearly 25% of the time. blitz has a similar winrate yet all the high elo players i see complain about him being picked on THEIR team, calling him useless... who does that for twitch? nobody.

chipndip11 votes

You're talking about high elo players.

Am I not one?

Fact: Twitch is good at abusing elements that run over lower elo players...which you clearly are, which probably adds fuel to your fire.

Fact: The Censer meta is LONG over. Hyper-carries are already back in line and have been for a good minute now.

Fact: You cherry-picking to make bullshit responses doesn't garner even the slightest bit of acknowledgement from me. If you have a point, make a REAL point, not just "I think high elo people think this" or "I think he's op cause his ban rate".

Bonus Fact: Ban rate means hardly anything in terms of a champ's win rate. All it does is control the play rate to some degree. You can't assume that a champ's ban rate being lower leads to more or less wins. Ban rates just tell you how much the general public don't want to see him for whatever reason.

UHHHHHHH not to be rude or anything but... it would seem you are a sona main. judging by your match history youve been abusing ardent supports for a long time.

not to make you accomplishments seem less significant but you really couldnt climb any easier than that cept for maybe janna. the ardent meta has barely been over, how long was the time frame in which it had been nerfed to the point that play making supports were viable again? 3 weeks?

im surprised youre so adamant about twitch being balanced tho i can understand youd want him to be strong considering him and trist probably carried you to where you are now.

  1. You have this weird habit of replying to the same person in more than one post. This is annoying.

  2. I've been maining this champ since season 5.

I'm actually quite done with you at this point. Trying to fault me for playing a champ I've been playing for 2 years? Yeah, quite done here. Go back to assuming what high elo players think about shit.

If you're gonna start talking about what others use to climb, why don't you climb first?

MistaFarenheit1 votes

1 oh well

2 that doesnt mean its not braindead easy

i didnt assume anything about high elo players, its what ive heard them say audibly, that means out loud with their own mouth btw. you think thats offensive you should watch more yt and see what they say about sona players.

i have climbed :< its technically my second season i started bronze 4 and didnt even really play until that last 2 weeks of ranked and got to silver 3.

in making a valid point about the range duration and frequency of twitchs arguably bullshit stealth mechanic im met with hostility from some1 that doesnt even play the fucking role. im very aware that im not good at the game but to be completely honest ill be damned if a fucking sona main is gonna act like shes better than anybody lol. you dont have positive winrates on ANYTHING but sona. get over yourself.

MistaFarenheit1 votes

and i never once said anything about his ban rate making him op, you asked if i looked at the chart and i responded with what i saw on it.

i dont even have a problem with twitch overall my main point was that i think his stealth mechanic should either be brought in line with champions who have a similar effect or vice-versa. making eve and rengos detection radius smaller.

I’ll admit that Twitch is annoying, and I do think his detection range or time in stealth shouldn’t be THAT forgiving. I, however, don’t have the rage boner for Twitch that everyone else has, if only because I play champions that do well against him, I guess. In my opinion, make his detection range just a TEENSY bit smaller. Either that or, more likely, shorten the amount of time he spends in stealth. You keep his general play style in check, but you don’t make it as easy to position as it is right now. He has to be more decisive and accurate with how he sets himself up.
