Why are executes counted in KDA?
It discourages people from backdooring or other creative strategies. I don't undestand why it makes sense for a death that gives no gold to be counter for it.

Why would that discourage you from backdooring? First of all how often are you being executed anyway? Secondly, who actually gives a damn about KDA? :S
Technically you did die... It wont pop up in the enemy teams KDA at the end of the game at least :)

A lot! I like to even attack turrets pre 1 minute if they aren't watching. I see no logical reason for an execute to be listed in KDA. It is just misleading.
The term Death is pretty self explanatory...
let me break it down for you
Execute= Death

That's just wrong though and anyone with basic logic should see it. You have one category, Deaths, that means two different things. It means both deaths from the enemies which contributes gold or executes which do not and can be either positive or negative. When I waste 3 people's time and get my team a Dragon only to get executed, that is definitely a positive contribution.
If it was the same, there wouldn't be the game term "Execute." It is never smart to have one category that has two different things under the same label. I'm not sure why I'm being downvoted when anyone with a brain should realize that this is a bad way of doing things. It's sad that people are so blinded by their own ideas to recognize truth smacking them in the face.
Because having a 0/30/0 all from executes means you hardly contributed to the team.
