How do you play Soraka now?

same as always, max W, then Q and E after. pick ancient coin for sustain and build ap

It all depend, generally you start coin or depending of your match up and how confident you are. If you face melee support the spell thief edge is good because you should be able to harass more early game and dictate the tempo (level 1 and 2). If you are a passive player the coin is better. Remember that at equal level and life if you choose the coin you have the weakest starting item so your role is more to peel than do an all in.

For level 1:

**Starting Q **allow you to harass. If you are not confident to land it or agresssive enough, it isn't worth it however it makes you effective at the level 2 for trade. Starting W is the more defensive option. The good part is that if they allin you have a greater chance to survive however it is rare that jungler gank at lvl 2 or their bot lane all in at lvl 1. most of the time it is the weakest starting skill option although it helps at lvl 2. Starting E: it is the most safe way lvl 1 but make you pray for a lvl 3 to be effective at trading. E allow you to harass easily and is great against all in character like Leona and thresh.

Level 2: it all depend of your level 1 first choice and the match up.

**- QW **are very good to harass trade but you will die if they jump on you. - QE is the most aggressive option allowing you to beat most trade monster like Leona and Thresh if they jumped on you and you haven't been poked down. if they jump Silence your area, land your starcall, AA,exhaust, AA until you feel you cant take more flash away. most of the time their support would have land 1 skill on you and you landed 3. One Q and E count as 2 waves of damage if they are rooted in. Remember while silenced or rooted people cannot flash so abuse of your range AA. WE is the most defensive combo so stay a little bit back and peel/heal for your ADC.

Pre 6: Try to level up as you see fit between Q and W.

-W allow you a better harass/sustain but a weak all in if they jump on you. -Q allow you a better aggressiveness and slightly better defense against all in since you should hit harder and more often.

Try to get your ward up and sight stone for more safety and mana regen if you dominate via chalice or tear. Sight stone make you tankier so as a support and potential target it is a must.

6 and Beyond:

If you get focus a lot, Zhonya isn't a bad choice, (strong AD who loves to focus you) if not, Mejai, Rylai scepter are good offensive pick.

then depending of your team situation: -Aegis (their AP are strong) -Frozen heart (their AD are strong)
