So are you going to re-enable GP so we can get this free skin?
Or is this just basically a huge middle finger to everybody.

not to everyone, if you played him before he died (even just once) you'd get it
He will be back in the new patch and that would be before the Burning Tides event ends.
What's happening is the base Gangplank is getting another model update. Captain Gangplank will be the Gangplank that we played for the week that he was reworked. The new "Classic" Gangplank will be way different. So everyone has already seen the Captain Gangplank skin, none of us have played with the base Gangplank yet.
He will be back in 5.15, so you will still have time to play him.
Also, they said that if you played the Reworked GP at all during the event, you get the skin.
