Regarding stacking orbs for Kayn's transformation...

Still learning Kayn and from what I can gather, Kayn gains the orb things very slowly from early on in the game and later in the game he gains far more. So if I were to try to gain orbs with a balance of relative safety and speed, how would I gain it best? Neither extreme seems very efficient, spamming early game ganks not gaining too much from each or waiting till mid game where untransformed Kayn could be 1v1d by anyone seemingly.
