  • People make suggestions on fixing the behavior system = -19 downvotes, flames and ridiculuous Riot generated responses on everything.

  • Riot finally considers giving us voice chat, after being the only game to not have it = WAHHHHH, But I want to do my own thing and ignore everyone but don't want to use the mute button and don't want to be reported for being a lousy teammate

This is why League doesn't bother, because you guys are just going to crap all over it anyway.

You are talking to people who want soloq only. They want everything to be about them in a team game. And you think they really want to talk to their teammates?

Wouldn't surprise me if they complained that voice chat took away from personal skill because some teams will have players that are now more coordinated because of voicechat.

Also, Do you really want to be in voice chat with some of these people? I know I dont. And a lot of people play while listening to music and don't feel like constantly calling stuff out in chat. If I want to do that I go play an fps with friends.

Honestly, the game would probably be better if there was only communication via ping and nothing else. Most chat ends up turning negative in this game.

This community is shit because of people like you, liars.

There are quantity of games which do not have voice chat. Having a voice chat OPTION is fine as long as it's something you chose to enable and is disabled by default.

Riot re-considering voice chat is not new information, we learned they had changed their stance on it in the middle of last season.

And when Riot initially explored the possibility of voice chat there were a lot of people back then voicing the same concerns they are now and Riot canceled their plans BECAUSE THOSE VERY CONCERNS WERE CONFIRMED BY THEIR EXPLORATION OF THE SYSTEM.

Well, when the community is a majority of Bronze, Silver and low Gold players. It is quite simple so see why not. They don't think, they just do.

I have found a few useful things about Voice Chat in League.

  1. Ganks by Jungler or Solo Laner - This can effectively be done with an On My Way ping to the Gank Location. You can even click/ping on the priority enemy target you want initiated on. Only advantage voice brings is timing.

  2. Rotations for Objectives - Also can effectively be done with an On My Way ping. Voice can be double edged here, because what you think is a good rotation might differ from other opinions.

  3. Team Fight/Duo Lane Initiation - Timing is better coordinated through voice than pings could ever manage. Switching priorities is also easier to manage without pings.

  4. Multitasking - Able to communicate without stopping what you are doing.

  5. Communicating Map Awareness - You can vocalize when you see an Enemy somewhere instead of issuing a random warning ping which will be at an empty map location when others look.

Now what would be the drawbacks of Voice Chat? I can only think of two.

  1. Inadvertently, many players using voice chat would fail to keep those out of the loop in synch via pings. This was a dynamic queue complaint and would be prevalent in a voice chat system.

  2. Requires new voice filter system to monitor toxicity. While I disagree with the presentation of Mirya's post, I'm not going to pretend like toxicity would diminish because voice chat exists. If people are dedicated to take the time to write a novel on how primitive your decisions are, they certainly won't think twice about venting through a microphone about your evolutionary failure. Sure you can mute and report, but I suspect the effectiveness of that reporting will diminish. Less punishment of these offenders means more players to be victimized.

In my opinion, voice chat seems like a good tool for the Support and Jungler with mild benefits for your Laners.

Isn't this just dismal, you get downvoted for making fun of how the community downvotes everything. Classic. At least you're pointing out something really unfortunate about the boards.

First of all, the behavior system doesn't need to be fixed. I could care less if the abominations I play with get banned or not, I'm satisfied with being able to mute them and completely disregard their existence; if only I could mute pings I would be happy.

Secondarily, voice chat I actually wouldn't mind honestly. Having my chat swamped with cursing is annoying, I'd rather have it occur in the voice chat, then just mute them all so I can play a peaceful game.

Third, do you actually think people on the boards represent any sort of community? Aside from a few noble heroes (Malicious Metal, Melledoneus, Mira Arya Enthe, many others I'm forgetting that actually share good ideas regarding champions and write well), nobody on here even has a moral compass, and is likely under the age of 13 (thus not even meant to be playing this game). I think everyone has great ideas, but this is not the place to post them. Reddit seems to always have red responses on it anyways, and I'm pretty sure Reddit doesn't have a "community" as abhorrent as the cringe we witness on here seemingly everyday.

Gee, maybe it's because what counts as an "improvement" is subject to opinion and each change brings new people who dislike said change? No... that can't be right. It must be the same exact person writing EVERY complaint thread ever. Because that is how people work. Every complaint thread comes from a small team of exactly 12 bipolar league players who spam the forums with hate for EVERYTHING from their computers at the mental institute that they all live in.
