What's missing from the Assassin Rework?

Elite4Runner··1 votes·354 views

I imagine that this has been mentioned already, and maybe it has even been explained. If so, I would appreciate if someone could paraphrase and/or link me to the discussion about it.

Why did the Assassin Rework have a rework on Armor Penetration/Lethality, but no changes to Magic Penetration?

Not even a new Magic Penetration item?

I know for a fact that the whole AD + Magic Resistance item 3814 vs AP + Armor discussion has already been beaten to death, but that kinda bugs me still as well.

Has anyone heard anything about this, or can we at least talk about it now?

The actually good changes.

Mostly because mpen wasn't problematic or in need of changes. Apen was oppressive early and being abused by ADCs.

I can understand that, but no new items either?

There may be new items for that later, but since the focus of this patch was the assassin rework they decided to not release any mage items (those were focused on in the MYMU).

Balance. Somehow they managed to make assassins even more stupid than they were.

The thing is, when you change things to require a greater amount of mechanical skill to execute, you have to reward the player for successfully doing so.

Also, whenever a new champion is released, or an old champion is reworked in a major way, Riot has a tenancy to overtune their kit upon release, then scale them back around two weeks afterward. This actually gives Riot more data for what actual balance looks like because people are far more likely to play a champion when they are strong. More games equals more data.
