Game Pacing

Is it just me or is snowballing incredibly potent right now? I feel like most of my games are decided by the 10-15 minute marks, and the last 15 minutes are either an inevitable slow push into the enemy base or getting slowly steamrolled by a team that got its advantage lane phase was really over. I don't know if its because of first tower xp or just matchmaking is really uneven right now or what but it feels like once that snowball starts it seems really hard to stop.

And personally, its not enjoyable being on either side of it. I'd rather have to build my advantage instead my whole team having an advantage when the first teamfight happens. And its not fun being on the other side of it when the snowball is crushing your team and your only hope at winning is your opponents playing like apes for a straight minute.

First off a majority of "snowballing" is from noobs at level 30 not knowing the meta champs

Coming from my last few games I'd say the game pacing has slowed down. It feels alot like the first few seasons of league.

Games end in one of three ways.

  1. The team that has a fed carry proceeds to shit stomp the enemy team and end the game at the 20 - 25 minute mark (high elo).
  2. The team that has a fed carry proceeds to shit stomp the enemy team and proceeds to dick around for 20 minutes, ending the game at the 30 -35 minute mark, but the game was still pretty much sealed for those 20 minutes (#bronze4lyfe).
  3. The team that has a fed carry proceeds to shit stomp the enemy team, promptly throw, and turn the game into an extremely tense slug fest due to insanely long death timers, and nobody takes any risks, creating a Frankenstein monster of the worst aspects of Season 5 and 6 (Silver - Gold AKA throw central.)

Really, if it wasn't for keystones spicing up the game and creating diversity second only to Season 5's Cinderhulk meta, I would be absolutely done with this game right now. But luckily for me my main is fucking batshit with the new runes and item changes, despite his old AF and outdated kit.

It's pretty bad. Runes have 'stacks' now, so once stacked a few opponent is more ahead than they'd otherwise look. Meanwhile your team is also probably using stacking runes (rather than static runes) and don't have the gold value. Snowball is bound to happen.
