what should be done in 4s....

used to be instant and on off hours it was maybe 4seconds. ......now takes over 30s. a full minute if people forget to accept

thats right, Co op vs AI matchmaking.

Ive been doing this for 3 years and since i began my everyday free FWOTD match its been super consistent over this long period of time.

but why now has it spiked up to 10x its normal speed? theres only 2 explanations.

  1. a dwindling population ? maybe? (i wonder what recent changes could cause that...)

  2. the complete off putting nature of the rampant and blatant feeding bots in there which are tough to carry through for new players who actually need to be in bots to learn. making a super unfun experience for beginners.

I think both points are probably accurate, and 2 probably feeds into 1. The population is dwindling because Riot has become complacent, and while they completely fail to realize that they're alienating a lot of their loyal veterans, they're simultaneously making the game very difficult to enjoy for beginners.

The game has been very difficult for new players. Runes, rune pages, and champions are very expensive. Most of my friends gave up before they even hit level 20, but that was before they made it easier to level. Even now though, I still find champions expensive despite the slower release dates and I'm still collecting IP for runes.

Yea. I tried to get 4-5 of my freinds to play the game - i cant get them past the 5th - 6th game. They just see the monumental grind ahead and say: "Fuck this ... lets play Dota." [zombie-nunu-bummed]

Farming bots, obviously, and also account leveling changes - spamming bot games used to be quickest way to level up account and still is, but now leveling it on normals takes much more reasonable time, so people that don't really like bot games are much more likely to level accounts on normals.
