i feel its too easy to get an s on supports

tl;dr @ the bottom

the only supports i that i dont have an s+ on are ones that i dont really play like morgana zilean and nautilus (only s on all 3), or havent played much since the grades came out (a+ on nami and a- on janna, s on lulu [even though i prefer her as a mid laner now])

often times i will get an s i dont feel i deserved due to how many times i had died or how much of an impact i feel i had on the match

it might just be because i play normals only against all bronze 5 people even though i probably have the mechanical skill of low gold-high silver (based on people ive been up against)

i also really like counterpicking or safe picks to ensure that i have an edge in lane

i just feel that i have a much harder time getting an s on champions that arent support

im going to use this game as an example http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2208340765/212109373?tab=overview

i as ezreal only got an a+ but the thresh got an s (idk if it was + or -)

the thresh was deserving of his s because of the amount of damage he did and his extremely high kill participation i only got an a+ despite having the highest damage, kills, and least deaths

this highlights why i think its easier to get an s as support

thresh died four times in that match and i only died once. the consistent poor kda and performance of non support players in the support role as a result of fill or secondary choice are watering down the requirements so that actual support players basically bathe in s ranks.

tl;dr:

secondary support and fill players sucking makes support mains like myself get ss easier via overall performances

I feel the exact opposite. I haven't gotten many S's on my main supports, even when I've been warding the whole game and got my adc fed enough so that HE went on to get an S.

In fact, 2 of my 3 S's I had 30+ assists and the games went on for an hour.

You will not get an S on a support unless you can rack up enough assists or you betray your role a bit and take some cs and kills. My last S as Nami I had 6 kills at the end of the game.

I'm a support main, I've been playing support a lot and I'd like to think I'm decent enough at it. I usually do a good job, I may go something like 1/2/13 (assuming the game lasts around 20 minutes) and ward the whole game, and really help my team stay alive and get kills. My adc could've gotten fed so that he got an S. I could've turned a teamfight around, or saved my adc right when he was about to die, but that isn't deserving of an S even though it is all what I should be doing because the system wants kills.

i dont think warding actually impacts if you get an s or not

ive gotten several s+s where i could have warded much better but didn't due to the control my team had on the map take this match for example, http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2209398660/212109373?tab=overview

i only did 22 wards, whereas sona did 31

i got the s+ because i had the highest kill participation in the game and the best kda

I've been told kda factors into it but it isnt the only thing. Nobody is entirely sure the formula for the ranking system but I've been asking and it seems like some of the stuff on the statistics page when you view your match on the web is factored in. So like gold, wards placed, kda, cs, etc.

Riot wont tell us thought because they dont want people taking advantage...but as it is now i see people who will screw over their teams in order to get more fed so they can get S's. If kda isnt the only thing that factors in, maybe telling people what is factored in might encourage more team play.

Life if wards are actually included, it will encourage people to ward more, etc.

I've been getting fed on Aurelion Sol every time I play him, and haven't been getting S's. I've been told it also looks at how the average player does with your chosen champ.

just had a lux start as sup and was toxic af so went romaing lux and managed to get an s because she killed people, I don't think she deserved one because she completely did the opposite of her role
