When is Future's Market Efficient?

I'm curious if anyone has any math or statistics that can explain when it is efficient to use Future's Market to borrow money in a match.

It's not a good rune at all

The rune basically says that you get a free 150 gold + 5 per minute, but lose 50 gold every time you actually use that bonus gold

AKA if you use this rune more than 3 times + once per ten minutes, you're actually losing gold

And, given how base gold income is already 20.4 per 10 seconds, you're essentially wasting a rune slot just to raise that to 21.23 gold per 10 seconds, which is so tiny when a cannon minion gives you 90 gold anyways

Future Market is actually good in some ways. like example you are so close to getting the first big item in your build and you end up dying (or recalling) with 100 gold off. it is too big of a gap to sit there and wait to earn it and you really need the item. you can either go without or borrow the gold and use it to repay the loan. i use it allot in my Cooldown Runes. plus if you use the Ancient Coin line you get free money when an ally gets a minion kill reducing your debt. plus you get extra gold from it anyway. so pairing FM with AC is a good strategy.

I agree that FM works really well for when you have a support item. When I'm playing a support I will usually start with the Tier 1 item and a refillable potion. I prefer poke supports so I also take Kleptomancy and get some extra gold by poking the enemy champion(s). The passive gold generation, gold from the Tier 1 support item, and Klepto-procs make it so I can usually return to base after a few minutes and with Future's Market I can purchase the Tier 2 item and a Corruption Potion, .. sometimes I even have enough for another item if we've got a takedown. The early upgrade on the support item easily makes up for the 50g fee by the second proc, simply because you're able to get it sooner. Having the extra gold at that point to ALSO have better poke and sustain keeps me from falling behind just to earn a bit of extra gold.

Side note, .. since I am already in the Inspiration tree, I also take Time Warp Tonic with this build. The extra duration on my Refillable / Corruption Potion, as well as the little bit of extra movement speed is great, plus it adds time for a lot of the consumables I pick up with Klepto.
