Top is an island. You either win it yourself or end up losing it. You are 1/5th of the team. Your job is to farm and stay alive so that your level is above any other player on your team with the possible exception of mid. You keep your tower from being destroyed and keep your lane warded. If your KDA or level is even slightly below that of your lane opponent, you stay under turret and you farm as best you can under turret with a pink properly placed in the bush behind your turret so if you see that the enemy is going to dive you from behind, you can at least try and get out in time. No sense in giving them another kill in addition to the turret.

You focus too much on your negative experiences. Not every game is a situation in which you are camped. If you end up becoming an easy target then, yes, it will happen. But as long as you play safe rather than being a rage-aholic then you might find yourself in a situation in which the enemy jungle decides to find something else to do. Otherwise, if they insist on camping you regardless then imagine how frustrated you make the enemy jungle by not giving them the satisfaction of you overextending. You're wasting their time by doing just that while your ally jungle is probably taking camps including enemy camps, starving that stupid camper who thinks they've nothing better to do with their time than harass you.
