@Riot: Will you ever make a Champion who uses gold as a part of their kit?

Sivir's got all these lines about wealth and money, but doesn't use it in her kit except to buy items (which EVERY Champion does). But what about making a Champion whose abilities actually scale off some amount of gold he/she earns in a match?

Obviously, you wouldn't be able to use total gold or current gold, so I'm thinking a skill that grants you gold for doing an action (i.e. poking an enemy Champion like with a Spellthief's Edge), and then another ability that scales off however much gold you earned via the first skill. Much more linear scaling, balance-able, and unique.

Any thoughts on this? Or is it innately toxic design?

A: Twisted Fate B: The amount of gold you have will rise in coordination to the amount of farm you have, meaning that technically this already applies to Nasus and the Feral Flare.

Sounds like another version of Cassiopeia or Nasus or Veigar or Sion's stacking. Hit the champion or farm the minion, get slightly stronger. Having it be gold-linked doesn't really sound like it's adding much in terms of actual gameplay, because she'd just have to be balanced around the different gold income, and the main focus would be the stacking itself.

Having something gold-linked in a kit is not a bad idea. Gambler in the original DotA had a gold-linked nuke (although his design was just kind of fucked in general in that classic DotA way and he got removed). Draven's passive also works that way, giving you an increased gold reward for playing the way you're supposed to (last-hitting, juggling axes, and killing people). However, just making it a stacking passive that happens to grant gold doesn't seem very interesting. There might be a way to make it work, but I'd guess that either the stacking or the gold generation would significantly less valuable to the kit than the other element.

Why not make a champion that uses gold instead of mana, energy, or furry. Collector - passive ( gains 5 gold whoever you hit a enemy champion with a ability) Coin Toss - cost: 20 gold Throws a pieces of gold each dealing X amount of damage Jackpot - cost: 30/35/40/45/50 gold Places a landline that explodes and deals X amount if damage when an enemy champion steps on it. Greed - cost: 5/10/15/20/25 gold Grants X% of movement speed. Lucky winner - cool down: 120/100/80sec All abilities have no costs for 6/8/10 sec

Like what? Your basis attacks deal bonus magic damge equal to 0.2% of the gold you earned in the match? Something like that?

Something like that, only not based off total gold (that'd be impossible to balance). I'd base it off a gold bonus that is part of the Champion's kit, and relies on said Champion being played properly.
