Riot, Let's talk about new Ryze

First off, I think this rework was a step in the right direction. Right now Ryze feels incredibly strong when you use his passive correctly, and less overwhelming when you don't have it.

But there's a few changes that would make his kit feel less clunky and more rewarding.

His passive feels clunky. It's supposed to reduce the cooldown of his abilities, but he can't use it when his abilities are on cooldown. If you're in the middle of a fight with 4 stacks and the only ability off cooldown is his Q (happens a lot), you SHOULD'T use it, it will completely waste his passive and he will only get the shield, I think this feels VERY underwhelming and clunky.

If I managed to use 5 abilities during a teamfight after I used my passive for the first time, I want it to feel rewarding, right now, the usual "soon my abilities will be off cooldown and I will be useful again" sensation doesn't exist when playing Ryze. It feels very unnatural.

We could easily adress this making the trigger spell reduce the cooldown of his other spells too. you can increase the stacks needed or something to balance this, just make it feel useful when it's available.

His Q feels very unrewarding, It has nearly the same damage it used to have, but now it's harder to hit and can be blocked. It's not even a proper 'poke' ability, when the rework first came out, I thought "good, now that he has range, I will be able to use Ryze mid again" but he doesn't feel powerful at all unless you use every skill, he has almost no poke.

I think we could switch some power from his E to his Q, or just increase the base damage/scaling per level. Right now it only gains 25 damage and 0.5% mana ratio per level, it feels very weak for a skillshot. His W gets 25 damage and 0.25 duration per level, I feel maxing W makes you more reliable and useful than maxing Q right now, and I don't think that's good.

What do you think about this rework?

And sorry for my bad english.

i feel that ryze will go opperino because numbers

besides that i agree with your points also his passive doesnt realy feel like a big thing, it was meant to shape his gameplay meanwhile it feels like a bonus that is barely noticeable to mee (hurr durr after 5 spells you spam a little harder)

Ryze is actually ridiculously strong right now, people are just not used to him yet. In a week or so people will realize how strong he is.

Does his passive reset his cooldowns so he can use them when it activates?
