ADCs get shiny new updates ... AS A CLASS
Juggularnauts got shiny new updates... AS A CLASS
Jugnauts and tanks got some shiny new items
Supports got some shiny new items
Junglers got some shiny new items
Unless I missed something ... APs literally have nothing to be excited about?

While it's true that us mage mains didn't get much from this patch(some of the masteries are nice), we can't be the focus of Riot's attention EVERY patch you know? Just chill for now. I'll start panicking if it comes up to the end of Season 6 and we haven't go attention. Until them I'm just gonna chill and let Riot do a little fine tuning on their new toys.

Overhaul? They took away DFG and added a single item?

Maximum Morde1 votesYou missed the changes completely somehow lol. Many items got their build paths updated to be nicer. Rylais slow effect was changed for the better, several items got a touch more AP, I can't remember them all off the top of my head, but they did happen!

I would disagree.
Carries in general (AP & ADC) usually had the better itemization, not just Mages. This is because their items so easily bleed into other role's builds.
Supports got item love as well in the past 2 seasons.
Junglers have also received a lot item (and gold) love in the past 2 seasons.
But say you're right... Past sins don't make current ones right?

Ppl keep saying they updated AP items. All I'm aware of was removing DFG and adding 1 item. That's not an update/overhaul or anything of substance.
I took a few months off, did I miss something?

Because AP items were 2 times better than the items junglers/supports/adc used to have before said updates. So Ap gets a minor update because they didn't and still don't need new items.

Well we have 2 months to go and poppy taric and shen updates aswell in that timeframe i believe

As mages have brand new mana sustain (a brand new fuckton) if you willfully know how to and understand combining mana sustain and AP then you will do fine. Mages still do good, just wait for the whole AD hype train to cool down and people will realize that Tanks can still counter full AD and mages do great to supplement with tanks against AD and other tanks etc
