Braum just seems to make Leona cry when it comes to saving teammates. He can block projectiles (and negate one attack completely in doing so), give bonus resists to a teammate, designate targets for a good stun, and has a powerful knock-up effect (which Leona lacks).
I love playing as Leona, but for some reason, my Braum performance is ALWAYS better simply due to mechanics. T_T
Tilomentry11 votesWell that's just it, she wasn't designed to 'save' her allies. Her strength lies in her ability to initiate and lock down a target. Braum body blocks for his ADC while Leona serves her ADC the enemy on a silver platter.

Lord Dusteon4 votes...Because Leona is more of a cc lockdown for murder support, not a saving people one? Her saving is by rushing into the enemy and bludgeoning their face in, not giving them resistances and blocking attacks.
While Braum has better defensive tools, Leona has much greater offensive. She has a self armor + mr buff, makes any enemies hit by her abilities take extra damage from an ally for one attack, and has a root + 2 stuns.

Kuroi862 votesMechanically speaking, they serve different purposes. Leona isn't meant to save her team mates except by providing a body block on some skill shots and a little peel. Braum exemplifies the ideal of body blocking and peeling for his carry. Leona is more focused on jumping into the middle of the enemy team and dropping CC hard and fast and setting up for her team to really hammer the enemy.

Sightless661 votesBraum does make Leona cry when it comes to saving teammates. It's a strength he has over her. Leona has much stronger and longer range initiation, does significantly more damage, and has more immediate CC. As an initiator or ganker, she's amazing. For peel, Braum is better.

UnicornPurple1 votesWhen people have trouble playing against Leona I recommend they pick Braum. I feel like he counters her because if she goes all in for your ADC you can leap to them and throw a shield up, and then hit her or the enemy ADC with Q and quickly turn the exchange to your favor.
I would also say his Braum is slightly more useful when used properly, but you can really spam Leona's. So IDK.
