Attack Range Mechanics Seem Wonky

I just find it hard to accept certain Champions utilizing certain items. Currently, there are two forms of Basic Attack: Melee and Ranged. But this is too basic for the champions we're faced with.

Thresh + item 3085 Obviously not something you see often, but it's weird to think about. How does swinging a chain allow projectiles to fly out and hit enemies?

I think there needs to be a third Basic Attack form to account for the fact that a champion like Thresh is both Ranged AND Melee- where the Champion can't utilize Melee or Range exclusive items. It just makes no sense.

Thresh is really unique.. but I think we could start pooling certain Champions into this category: like Ezreal. Ezreal is, by all means, ranged. But punching the air and sending energy flying toward an enemy is very melee in style.

Thresh's basic attack doesn't have a projectile. Things should make a bit more sense once you detach from the idea that ranged equals projectile.

If you give Thresh Runaan's Hurricane. He will shoot arrows out of his chain. Learn to read scrub.

You should reread my first post after you've detached yourself from the idea that ranged equals projectile (and conversely that melee equals no projectile). It'll make a bit more sense.

lmaowat? He doesn't punch, he thrusts his hand out and magic spews out. That's a very ranged style of fighting.

Thrusts his hand? Why don't you thrust your hand in someone's face- then tell me it isn't punching.

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware thrusting my hand out and spewing magic at someone from 500 yards away was considered "punching."
