@Riot, can we overhaul the customization of our item sets? Let us port in sets from other players?
Should also be able to distinguish if you have Smite or other summoner spells.
Example:
![]()
Should pop up with items like

Or whatever item set you have set for that particular summoner spell/champion combination.

As you can see above, there's plenty of space available to be able to specify champion/summoner spell combinations.
Use cases:
![]()
"Sustain matchup" (As indicated via TP)
/
x3 /
x2
![]()
"Hard lane" (As indicated via Exhaust)
x2
ETC. Point is, let us customize our item sets based off champion, map, and summoner spell preferences, in addition to letting us port in item sets.
Think of the possibilities. You have a new client coming up (currently in Alpha) and this is a great time to introduce this feature. If you add the ability to fully customize item sets, you can also add the ability to add descriptions and port it directly into the game. This also sets you up nicely so that you can support guide creation yourself, from within the client. Players can create and write guides for any champion in any lane. You can host the guides both in-game (via the item sets), on the client (via your new client), AND on your own website! You can list the player's Name, Rank, and experience with the champion without relying on third party sites like Lolking, which honestly have kinda gone to shit. This will also help attract new players as they will be given accurate, up to date, and community voted resources for new players while IN GAME. So they won't have to go into their first pvp game thinking that thornmail is great on ashe.
Imagine being able to port in sets with descriptions of when you'd buy an item and why, within the game. There's plenty of space in the item sets to do this, and it supports this feature already, just let us change the text!
